Spanky Wilson comes from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and sang with Jimmy McGriff’s Organ group before being taken under the wing of producer H.B. Barnum. She recorded three albums for his label Mothers records and The Snarf Company, of which Doin’ It has become one of the most sought after.
Originally released in 1969, this record is a great example of late ‘60s soul, and has been in demand for many years, Mint copies now sell for £150 - £200. Now, though, the record is receiving its first ever vinyl reissue!
