Absolutely Rare (Double Red Vinyl LP)

This now very rare double LP was only pressed in limited numbers and is highly collectible today and features many rare live tracks plus some even more rare cover versions.  Pressed on bright red vinyl it also contains the original inner booklet.

The grading is based upon the quality of the vinyl and how much 'background' there is rather than the audio quality itself as it is well known that this rare bootleg was produced by fans and not recorded professionally.

Visual grading

Both records are in superb condition and have been hardly played as there is only a minimal amount of spindle wear.  I cannot detect any hairlines or scratches and they remain visually stunning.  The second vinyl has a more 'marbled' look to it with more black swirls than the first.  Both vinyls are housed in plain white poly-lined inner sleeves

Play grading

As any Queen aficionado knows this very rare bootleg was not recorded with the highest of quality so should be judged more by its rarity value and by how much 'background' there is.  I am pleased to report that Side One plays very cleanly apart from a couple of clicks.  There is no intrusive crackle and it is obvious it has been hardly played.  This side includes the live cover of John Lennon's 'Imagine' a mega rarity.  Side Two plays in similar fashion although the version of 'Cool Cat' has excellent audio and definitely plays with greater clarity.  This track by the way has backing vocals from David Bowie.

  Side Three again contains many rarities including a short version of 'Immigrant Song' by Led Zeppelin.  Again there is very little interference but do not expect quality audio, this is a bootleg!  It is just rare that this plays without loud intrusive crackle.  Side Four ends the album with the same quality.  'Goin' Back' actually plays with excellent quality and is another very interesting listen.   

Gatefold cover

The gatefold is in wonderful condition with minimal wear.  The edges and wide spine are in superb shape with only a hint of rubbing on the corners.  There is a small sticker removal mark top right and the remainder is in superlative condition and especially the inside of the gatefold.  The opening edges are also extremely clean with hardly any handling wear.  This gatefold is very rarely seen in this condition today. 

Absolutely Rare insert

This is in near immaculate condition which is so rare considering it is made of paper!  No rips, tears or marking.  It has the tracklisting for all four sides.

The labels

The white labels are in great condition with only a very small amount of spindle wear.  Perhaps played 3/4 times at most.
