Led Zeppelin IV A3/B4 UK Red/Plum Label
This A3/B4 version of 'Zoso' or 'Four Symbols' is in stunning condition and is one of the rare ones with no errors on the labels!  The audio plays to an exemplary standard with complete silence in the dead wax between every track.
This is one of the 'transitional' copies with the new catalogue number sticker on the back of the gatefold.
Of course it has PECKO DUCK and PORKY etched into the dead wax on each side.

2401012 // A / 3 // 1 3  3 // Pecko Duck

2401012 // B / 4 // 1 2  6 // Porky

The audio on S1 is Near Mint ('Stairway To Heaven' Ex+)
The audio on S2 is Near Mint ('When The Levee Breaks' Ex+)
The gatefold is Ex to Ex+
The labels are Mint
The original inner sleeve is VG+
Visual grading

The vinyl is absolutely stunning and is the cleanest A3/B4 red/plum pressing I have ever seen.  There is not a great deal of spindle wear and the record has obviously been very carefully handled down the years.  S1 has only 2/3 very faint barely visible hairlines and one very small fingerprint type mark but apart from that is pristine.  S2 is pristine!  It quite simply looks 'like new' it is that good.  Both sides have a lovely glossy sheen that look as though they were pressed yesterday.  The run out grooves are beautifully clean also.
Play grading

There is almost zero lead in static and 'Black Dog' then plays with superlative sound and only a handful of mega light dust ticks.  There is no crackle or pops and the quieter sections play with no 'background' and to all intents and purposes this track plays with Near Mint quality.  There is no distortion at all.
'Rock and Roll' continues this incredible quality with immense power and depth and I so rarely grade as Mint but this track deserves that accolade.  I have just never heard better.  The clarity and depth of the sound is just superb.
'The Battle of Evermore' has no interference on the intro.  How rare is that?  There is a minimal number of mega light dust ticks on this track but this you can find on new vinyl let alone one from 1971!  Plus I'm 'looking' for even the most minor of imperfections and to most ears they would not be audible.  They are so quiet as to be totally negligible and the track plays with super impressive quality.  No clicks, pops, crackle or jumps.
The intro to 'Stairway to Heaven' is breathtaking.  It plays so clearly this is as close to 'as new' as you will find.  On the 'There's a feeling I get...' verse there is a little intermittent static but is very much in the background and not intrusive.  It still plays with excellent clarity.  Thereafter it plays with superb audio although there is some static hiss on the top end just before the guitar solo starts.  This solo then plays fantastically well as does the following vocal with some light distortion on the top end.  As any Led Zepp aficionado knows this is on all the early red/plum pressings and occurs when the grooves are pressed closer together in order to fit the track onto the side.  The quiet final few seconds play beautifully with no interference.  A superb end to such a classic track.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
S2 again has almost no lead in static.  'Misty Mountain Hop' then plays superbly well with no 'background', a stunning start to this side.  The power and definition is incredible and I'm not sure I've heard better.
'Four Sticks' plays with even greater definition and clarity, if that is possible. There is no interference and if anything easily deserves a Mint- grading.  No crackle, clicks, pops etc.  The bass is so strong on this track and the fade out just sounds perfect.
Again I don't want to sound boring but 'Going to California' is sublime.  It is the quietest track on the album and yet the only interference is the odd mega light dust tick here and there.  For a vinyl of this age the quality is 'high end'.
'When the Levee Breaks' always plays with a modicum of distortion on the top end being the final track on the album.  How much can vary depending on how well the vinyl has been cared for.  I am pleased to say it is not excessive here at all and this classic closer plays with a quality that is better than most and is one of the better versions I have heard.  Again there are no clicks or pops and it is a fitting end to a classic album.
In summary this rarely played LP plays with astonishing power and clarity for a vinyl of this age.  As stated it hasn't been on a turntable too many times and the quality just shines through.  A final upgrade, archive copy in my humble opinion.
Gatefold cover
The gatefold has been very well preserved and has only minor shelf wear.  The edges have some rubbing although this is mainly on the two bottom edges.  The spine is very clean but does have a little wear on the top and bottom.  The front and back cover are unmarked and rarely seen in such a clean condition.  The inside is also in fantastic shape with no wear.  The opening edge has no handling wear at all.  As can be seen it has the 'new' cat no sticker on the back.  Overall this is a great example of this iconic cover and will not disappoint.
Inner sleeve
This is a very clean inner and better than so many today.  There is a small split on the bottom edge but it is a 'clean' split if you know what I mean and not obvious.  There are two small splits also to each side.  There are no markings or writing so whilst not perfect it is in good order overall when so many today are found badly torn/wrecked!
The labels
The red/plum labels are in perfect condition with no writing/marks and look as new with only a small amount of spindle wear.
