Phyllis Hyman was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in 1949 and enjoyed moderate success as a songwriter and actress.
But it is as a singer that she is most fondly remembered, working alongside the likes of the great Norman Connors.
This special 7” features both of her cherished northern/modern soul anthems played on the scene as new releases in 1979/80.
Of particular note is You Know How To Love Me, which broke the UK Top 50, peaking at No.47 in February 1980.
