Over their six-year career The Sugarcubes gained international renown for their unique sound, achieving unprecedented success for an Icelandic band and influencing the country’s musical scene dramatically.
Released in 1988, Life’s Too Short was the group’s first album, and the record which brought to fame their lead singer Björk.
As well as entering charts outside of Iceland, Ammæli, (later released in English as Birthday) was chosen as Single Of The Week by both NME and Melody Maker, and was also selected as #1 in John Peel’s Festive Fifty.
The album, meanwhile, is now viewed as an underground classic - a fact confirmed when it was selected as part of the 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die book.
Pressed on neon green vinyl, this special reissue will prove a treat for any fan.
