33 1/3 RPM LP - Sealed record in sleeve. New York: Caedmon Records. January, 1964. Ninth
printing. Square quarto. Original factory sealed 33 1/3 r.p.m. twelve inch long playing record in
paper inner sleeve in illustrated thick card LP sleeve. Fine in fine
sleeve illustrated by Antonio Frasconi. A very rare still sealed copy of this scarce
long playing recording (Caedmon TC 1002) of poet Dylan Thomas reading "A
Child's Christmas in Wales," "Fern Hill," "Do Not Go Gentle Into That
Good Night," "In White Giant's Thigh," "Ballad of Long-Legged Bait" and
"Ceremony After Fire Raid." A wonderful recording. Scarce, especially in
this still sealed, mint condition.
Recorded live at Steinway Hall in New York City on February 22, 1952 (Washington's Birthday), on this recording you will hear Dylan Thomas in his own voice reading his classic story, "A Child's Christmas in Wales," as well as five of his great poems.
Side One
A Child's Christmas in Wales, a story
Fern Hill
Side Two
Do Not Go Gentile Into That Good Night
In the White Giant's Thigh
Ballad of the Long-legged Bait
Ceremony After a Fire Raid
What influenced Bob Dylan to go so far as to name himself after this great poet? You will probably get a good sense of the reason behind that after hearing this recording.
