KonKoma is the name of a tribe in Northern Ghana. This band is like a live rebirth of Ghana’s music from the 70s and 80s, it is authentic and rhythmic Ghanaian music.” Alfred ‘Kari’ Bannerman Rooted in 1970s Ghana KonKoma is the brainchild of saxophonist Max Grunhard and producer Ben Lamdin (Nostalgia 77). The idea was to create a band around two highly esteemed Ghanaian musicians - Alfred Bannerman and Emmanuel Rentzos. Both are mercurial talents who over the years have graced the stage with the likes of Bobby Womack, Hugh Masekela and Peter Green as well as being long term members of the Afro-rock band Osibisa. London based Afro-funk outfit KonKoma will release their self-titled debut on Soundway Records on June 25th. Ghana was the first destination of Soundway’s acclaimed compilation series with Ghana Soundz Afro-Beat, Funk And Fusion in 70’s Ghana. It has been a long held ambition for the label to work with a contemporary Ghanaian band who can push the country’s unique take on afro-beat and highlife forward. KonKoma adds a progressive edge to their rich blend of Afro-funk, jazz, soul and traditional African rhythms as well as acknowledging the 70s recordings that spawned the sound . Celebrating their 10 year anniversary this year, Soundway’s Ghana Soundz compilation featured amongst others, Ebo Taylor, who inspired a young Alfred Bannerman in his formative years growing up in Cape Coast. 10 years on from that inaugural release Soundway have signed a living, breathing live re-birth of the music found on their seminal Ghanaian compilations.

Vinyl Records and their Sleeves are very easily damaged in the post, with our 13 years experience we take great care when packaging vinyl records, by opening and removing the inner sleeve (without touching the record) to try and avoid any problems.

***Although, if you would rather we did not carefully open one side of the PVC sleeve (if supplied), please contact us once the order has been placed, we cannot accept any responsibility for spine damage to the sleeve in transit if the record is not removed***

DELIVERY TIMESCALE: We expect to deliver all orders within 7 working days of the orders being placed. Still, sometimes delivery could take longer, according to the destination country and its postal services:

- up to 14 working days for UK parcels

- up to 21 working days for Europe parcels

- up to 30 working days for Worldwide parcels

Faulty / Delivery Errors: To return an item you believe is faulty or you have received the wrong item, please e-mail us. We test all returned goods and reserve the right to return the product to you at your expense if we cannot reproduce or agree the fault is a manufacturing fault. In the event that your order is damaged in the post, please ensure the goods remain sealed, refunds will not be made if we deem that the customer is responsible for the damaged caused.

Should you receive any items that you did not order, or that prove to be faulty, you can return them to us by emailing to request our returns address within 14 days of delivery.

Damaged items: If the damage is limited to standard cases, please email us with details of the damaged cases and we can send replacements out to you. If the damage affects the product itself, the libretto or any non-standard packaging, please follow the instructions for faulty items within 14 days of receiving the delivery.

Unwanted Purchases: You may return your order by informing us of this by email up to 14 days after receiving the delivery. Goods must be returned to us unopened (factory sealed) or un-used and you must obtain a proof of postage receipt for the returned goods, the buyer is responsible for return costs.

Please note that we are unable offer an exchange service on unwanted items. If you wish to exchange your order, please return the item for a refund, and place an order for the alternate item. We are happy to refund unwanted items that are returned to us within 21 days after receiving the delivery.

For all returns: Please enclose a note quoting your order number, what you are returning, the reason for return, and specifying whether you require the correct item to be sent out, or a refund within 21 days of receiving the item. All goods that are returned to Assai-Sent2u are the responsibility of the customer and you may wish to send goods by a secure postal method (Recorded or Registered Post).
