Rare "Rock-A-Billy" record, recorded in 1959 by Carmol Taylor.

Written and performed by famed song writer Carmol Taylor, as probably his best-known vocal.  Recorded for Tagg Record Company of Hamilton, Alabama.

Fame-Tune 504

Side 1: "I'VE BEEN A FOOL" 504-1

Side 2:  "FREE AS A BREEZE"  504-2

Taylor was born at Brilliant, Alabama. As a child, he moved to Mississippi. At the time he cut this record, he was still teamed up with Billy Sherrill, another famous Alabama-born musician. Later in his career, Taylor was better known as a writer than a performer.  He wrote songs for such notables as Hank Snow, George Jones, Tammy Wynette, and Elvis Presley.

NOTE:   No shipping to international addresses. I ship only to addresses in the USA.

This record is pre-owned but appears to have been hardly played. Looks almost in new condition.

I no longer have a record player, but I am sure this vintage record (acquired from an estate sale) could still be played for an authentic experience in hearing songs of yesteryear. However, I know that some folk like to frame and display these genuine old records in their dens or family rooms. Others, who are lucky enough to own juke boxes, stock their boxes with genuine 45 RPM vinyl records and enjoy them in that way.

Following my 79th birthday I am offering items from my collections as a way of sharing with others who like the same types of collectables I do (printed music, sound recordings, antique tools, vintage magazines and books, vintage sewing patterns with neat cover illustrations, fishing lures etc. and just miscellaneous "stuff" that caught my eye during a long lifetime of acquiring items from junk stores, malls, yard sales and estate sales. I will list thousands of postal collectables:  mint condition U.S. postage stamps, antique picture post cards, letterhead envelopes. Also lots of other paper ephemera.) Just about every week expect my listings to have newly listed items. I will try to keep a good variety of items in my eBay listings. You'll find that I start my auctions at low prices.

Over time there will be several hundred listings for sheet music, most from the 1930s, give or take a few years, but some a century old or older.  Lots of records, most from the 1930s and 1940s give or take a few years. If you win more than one record, pay the full amount including your part of the shipping cost on each item (I always pay part of the shipping cost, and ask the buyer to pay part.) If I find I can combine shipping of 2, 3 or more items you have bought at the same time, I won't try to profit on shipping as many sellers do, but will send you a partial refund.

In the aftermath of repeated increases in postage rates over the most recent 4 years, I do ask buyers to pay part of shipping costs. I pay the remainder of the costs of shipping.
