COLTRANE'S LAST ALBUM ON PRESTIGE CAPTURES THE JAZZ GIANT JUST AS HE WAS BEGINNING TO EXPLORE DIFFERENT DIRECTIONS. Recorded during three separate sessions over two years, the record documents his rapid growth over a short period of time. The first three tracks feature Coltrane inrare trio mode (without a pianist) and provide some clues as to where he was headed on future releases. "Lush Life," featuring Donald Byrd on trumpet, stands as the true highlight of the record. An essential part of any jazz nerdus collection, this record is an excellent introduction to Coltrane and jazz in general. 5 tracks in all, 2019 blue vinyl edition.
Vinyl + Sleeve condition is Near Mint, no scratches, has only been played 2-3 times max.
