DON'T KNOCK THE ROCK   FROM THE FILM.... DON’T KNOCK THE ROCK
(Fred Karger / Robert E. Kent)
Don’t knock the rock (Don’t knock the rock)
Don’t knock the rock (Don’t knock the rock)
Well my baby don’t do nothin’ but rock an’ roll that’s all

You can knock be-bop and you can knock swing
Say what you want about any old thing, but
Don’t knock the rock (Don’t knock the rock)
Don’t knock the rock (Don’t knock the rock)
Well my baby don’t do nothin’ but rock an’ roll that’s all

Now when my baby’s dancin’ she’s as tall as a clown
If she ever fell, she’d have to fall outa town
Dances in the kitchen with her feet in the hall
Rollin’ the rock she’s-a havin’ a ball

Don’t knock the rock (Don’t knock the rock)
Don’t knock the rock (Don’t knock the rock)
Well my baby don’t do nothin’ but rock an’ roll that’s all

(Musical Break)

You can knock mambo or dozy doe
Say what you want about any of those, but,
Don’t knock the rock (Don’t knock the rock)
Don’t knock the rock (Don’t knock the rock)
Well my baby don’t do nothin’ but rock an’ roll that’s all

You can knock-a the jive and boogie beat
Kick about those with both of your feet, but,
Don’t knock the rock (Don’t knock the rock)
Don’t knock the rock (Don’t knock the rock)
Well my baby don’t do nothin’ but rock an’ roll that’s all

When my baby’s dancin’ she is really alive
Grabs herself a partner, Mr. Five by Five
Swings him from the tree like a happy baboon
Two steps back, throws him over the moon

Well, don’t knock the rock (Don’t knock the rock)
Don’t knock the rock (Don’t knock the rock)
Well my baby don’t do nothin’ but rock an’ roll that’s all   THIS WAS THE LAST OF BILL HALEY'S UK HITS - AND ONE OF HIS BEST!   ENTERED THE UK CHARTS 8 FEB 1957 HIGHEST POSITION - # 7 :   8 WEEKS ON CHART
FILM PLOT...   Rock-and-roller Arnie Haynes returns to his hometown as a hero to the teenagers. However, the mayor and other concerned adults have banned him from performing in his hometown because they consider him and his music a negative influence on the youth. But with the help of disc jockey/publicist Alan Freed and fellow artists (including Bill Haley and the Comets and Little Richard), they hope to convince everyone that rock and roll is not as dangerous as the adults think.
