'The Taste' were formed in Ireland in 1966 by Rory Gallagher and in 1968 they moved permanently to London where they signed with Polydor in November 1968 and the band opened for Cream at their farewell concerts. In April 1969 Taste released the first of their two studio albums, the self-titled 'Taste'. This is the first pressing with the earliest A//1 B//1 matrices and matching 1-1- stampers!   The MacNeill Press fully laminated sleeve is intact & in EX condition, with some very light edge/corner wear, a couple of small laminate creases on the cover and a little laminate lifting along the spine. The spine is intact and fully readable, the plain company inner is intact & in EX condition.   The record is in visually EX condition, with only a couple of very faint sleeve removal hairlines and one or two light needle scuffs visible on each side. The labels are in EX+ condition, clean & bright with no evidence of spindle markings!   The sound reproduction is EX+, still clear & precise throughout with no loud pops, hiss or crackle & no skips, sticks or jumps, but there is some very brief & low background noise during the run in grooves, a really great, loud & lively listen.   The matrix nos. are; 583083, A//1 stamper 1-1-19, B//1 stamper 1-1-30. This is one of the later copies of the 1st pressing of the original 1969 UK stereo issue of this album!
