Led Zeppelin : Houses Of The Holy A2/B2
This first pressing plays with superb clarity and depth for the vast majority.  There is only a little 'background' on a couple of intros and even then it is by no means loud or that intrusive.  The classic 'No Quarter' is stunning with only very light static on the intro and for an A2/B2 pressing it is without doubt one of the strongest versions I have ever heard.
This first pressing is of course the Robert Ludwig cut which makes it even more collectable.  It is well known as having a greater sonic quality, a very strong audiophile copy as it were.  The vinyl is also very impressive visually with no marks or scratches.
The gatefold is absolutely stunning!  I have never seen better and the textured lyric inner is also practically 'as new'.  Both so rarely seen as good as this!  It comes complete with the rare and original UK Obi which remains in excellent condition with only minor wear.

Visual grading
The vinyl is in superb condition and has a very healthy glossy sheen with no marks or scratches.  All I can detect under a strong light are a small number of faint hairlines but they have no bearing on the audio.  There are a couple of very small hairline scuffs on S1 but again they have no affect on the music.  S1 in particular is in lovely condition and looks 'as new' at first glance - there are no obvious hairlines and I can see only a couple of minor 'specks'.  The run out grooves are also very clean and there is not very much spindle wear either.
Play grading
The instrumental opening section on 'The Song Remains The Same' plays superbly with no interference of any kind and as the vocal comes in the clarity is equally as good.  It continues to play with extraordinary quality and just from this first track it is obvious this vinyl has only been lightly played.  The definition of the audio is so strong - you can hear each note with such precision and this truly is a stunning version of this track.  I would go so far to say this is Mint- as there is just no intrusion on the audio whatsoever.  A stunning start to S1.
'The Rain Song' does have some static on the intro but not overly intrusive in my opinion and you can still hear the music very clearly.  Soon after the vocal starts it has decreased a lot and the clarity is very impressive.  The next instrumental section has barely any intrusion, just the lightest of static and from when you hear the piano the playback is very impressive indeed.  It progresses in the same way and the final verse plays incredibly well and there is then only very minimal static on the final 'quiet' section.  I would say the intro is Ex- but the remainder is Near Mint for sure.
'Over The Hills And Far Away' plays with great clarity from the outset with only a small number of very light dust ticks and 3/4 slightly more obvious ticks just before the vocal.  It then plays so well and as the volume increases the audio cannot be faulted.  Each verse plays with sublime clarity, no 'background' at all, and the mid instrumental section is 'as new' without doubt.  The very quiet section at the end plays very clearly with only a couple of crackles at the beginning and only very minor static thereafter.  This track is Mint- for the majority but with an intro and ending that grade as Ex
'The Crunge' plays with wonderful quality from the very first groove and from start to finish there is no intrusion on the audio.  A Mint- end to the side.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The intro on 'Dancing Days' is 'as new' and it continues to play with outstanding quality through every section.  There is literally nothing that intrudes on the quality of the music and is as good as it was when first pressed in '73.  A spectacular Mint- version and it doesn't really require the minus!
'D'Yer Mak'er' is of the same 'high end' standard with no intrusion.  Even the fade out plays with perfect precision.  Mint-
'No Quarter' so often is badly affected by static or worse but the intro here has only a very minimal 'background' I am pleased to say.  Once Bonham joins in the audio is superb and as Plant's vocal begins the playback is so 'clean' with barely any static.  The first verse is as close to perfect as is possible and from then on it continues with exceptional clarity.  There is such depth to the audio and even the following quieter sections have hardly any 'background', just the odd barely audible dust tick.  This is easily one of the finest versions I have ever heard and the second verse (near the end!) is a prime example of the clarity on offer here.  So quiet and yet there is no intrusion on the audio whatsoever.  The final section is also 'as new' with a long fade out that is perfect.  The intro is Ex+ and the remainder has to grade as Mint- it is a stunning listen!
The 'spoken' intro on 'The Ocean' has no interference and the instrumental intro is equally as good.  The first verse is very impressive with only minimal inner groove distortion and from then on plays with pretty much faultless audio.  The very quiet 'la la' vocal section has no static and whilst there is just a touch of distortion on the instrumental section towards the end it is only very minor and non-intrusive in my opinion.  I only mention it to be 'complete' with my grading and there is no actual interference from start to finish.  A Near Mint track to end the album.
In summary this genuine first press plays with great quality and of course it comes with the all important original Obi.  Much of the album plays with stunning clarity and definition and the only 'background' which is a little intrusive is on the intro to 'The Rain Song' on S1.  I have to say I was very impressed with the quieter sections on the classic 'No Quarter' which has only very minimal static at the beginning.  With no clicks or pops there are not many negatives here at all and I am sure any collector would be impressed with the audio quality.
The Gatefold & Obi
This is one of the finest examples of this cover that I have ever seen.  It is so clean and has no obvious wear - the edges and spine have no wear and there is no discernible corner wear plus the opening edge looks untouched.  The front and back cover are immaculate with no marking and for once have no creases around the edges.  The inside is also in fantastic condition and has no fading or spotting.  It is also still very strong and robust like it has hardly been handled down the years.  Honestly you could find a better cover!
The rare Obi is in excellent condition and remains intact.  There is a little corner wear above the Y on the right side and a little fading at each end but it has no marking and is certainly one of the better ones I have seen.
The Lyric Inner
The textured inner is as close to perfect as is possible and is rarely seen as 'clean' as this.  You regularly find them with a fair amount of staining or spotting but not this one!  It is beautifully clean with no side splits and barely any marking, just a couple of mega faint print type marks.  Almost 'as new' basically!
The Labels
The green/orange labels have no marking or writing and not too much spindle wear.  They do have a small number of indent / ridging marks but this is common with this LP.
