Description
Original UK Island pink rim label stereo press LP.
Mike Harrison was a founder member of The VIP's a northern R&B band (which included Keith Emerson in their line-up), who then re-invented themselves as ART. They split up again just before Art's first album release and then formed Spooky Tooth in 1968, releasing four albums for Island Records. Spooky Tooth split again in 1970 and Mike Harrison started a solo career releasing his first album Mike Harrison in 1971.
The Ernest J. Day Group matt gatefold sleeve is intact & in EX condition, with some light corner wear and storage rubbing on the outer cover and some rubbing on the inner cover, but there are two small sticker marks on the front cover. The spine is intact and fully readable, the plain inner is intact & in VG+ condition.
The record is in visually EX+ condition, with only a couple of faint sleeve removal hairlines and one or two light needle scuffs visible on each side that do not affect play. The labels are in EX+ condition, clean & bright with evidence of only one or two very faint spindle markings on each side.
The sound reproduction is EX+, still clear & precise throughout, with definately no skips, sticks or jumps, but there is some very brief background noise during the run in grooves, overall a really clean, loud & clear listen.
The matrix nos. are; ILPS-9170, A-1U stamper 1-GA, B-1U stamper 1-M. This is one of the early copies of the original 1971 UK stereo issue of this album!
