The second album by Principal Edwards Magic Theatre was recorded between tours during 1970 and released in January 1971. The band had formed at Exeter University during 1968 and were a large collective of musicians and artists. They mixed rock, folk, poetry and theatre in their performances and continued to study until 1969, when they moved to a farmhouse near Kettering and became a full time band. They were the first band signed by John Peel to Dandelion Records and often supported bigger acts such as Pink Floyd, leading to Nick Mason also produced this album. Their sound is a mix of recorders, violins, mandolin and female/male vocals in a very gentle and eclectic folk rock style.

This is the first CBS pressing with the Dandelion picture labels, the 'Dan-8002' label rim text and A-1 B-1 matrices & A-1 A-1 stampers of the earliest issues.

  The Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd matt gatefold sleeve is intact & in VG+ condition, with some light corner/edge wear and some storage rubbing on the outer cover, with a couple of small creases on one corner. The spine is intact, with some rubbbing and fully readable and the plain company inner is intact, is slightly discoloured & in EX condition.   The record is in visually EX condition, with only a couple of faint hairlines and one or two small needle scuffs/marks on each side. The labels are in EX condition, undamaged, clean & bright with evidence of one or two faint spindle markings on each side.  
The sound reproduction is EX, still clear & precise throughout, with definately no skips, sticks or jumps, but there is some brief background noise during the run in grooves.
Overall, just a really great, loud & clear listen.

The matrix nos. are; DAN-8002, A-1 mother stamper A-1, B-1 mother stamper A-1. This is one of the earliest pressings of the original 1971 UK stereo issue of this classic album!
