Pink Floyd : The Dark Side Of The Moon A3/B2 1st Press + Posters & Stickers
This is without the most impressive A3/B2 Dark Sides that I have ever played with a clarity, depth and power that is second to none.  There is no real interference, just a minimal amount of light static and a small number of mega light ticks on S1, and there are no intrusive ticks, clicks or pops at all.  The sonic quality is stunning and it is no exaggeration to say that the vast majority of this album is 'as new' it is that good.  The vinyl is visually stunning and can only only have been played on 'high end' equipment which has helped it retain its original sound quality.
The iconic cover is in excellent condition with only a little shelf wear and it comes complete with the original posters which remain in superb condition and the two stickers which have only a couple of minor creases.  They could be original but I can't say for certain.
SHVL 804 // A-3 / B-2 // ROD 3 / GOR
The audio on S1 is Near Mint (Mint- for the vast majority / T3 end section Near Mint-)
The audio on S2 is Mint(-)
The gatefold is a very strong Ex
The posters are Mint- and the stickers Ex+
The labels are Near Mint-
The inner sleeve is Ex
Visual grading
The vinyl is in lovely condition and still has an immaculate jet-black glossy sheen with no marks or scratches.  Under a strong light I can only detect a couple of faint hairlines on each side and whilst there is some spindle wear there is certainly not an excessive amount.  The labels are very clean with no marking or writing and and this is visually a superb example of this album.
Play grading
The 'heartbeat' intro on 'Speak To Me' plays with wonderful clarity and the only 'background' are a handful of mega light ticks which of course are not intrusive.  So quiet they hardly require a mention!  For once there is no persistent static and the 'spoken' section also plays so clearly and as the volume increases there is no decrease in quality.  This is a stunning Near Mint start to this classic album and that is a rarity in itself and especially on an A3/B2 pressing.
The segue into 'Breathe' is faultless and the opening instrumental is nigh on perfect with only 3/4 barely audible dust ticks.  The two verses then play 'as new' with a clarity, depth and warmth that could not be enhanced in any way.  So far the album is playing rather well!  This easily qualifies as a Mint- version.
'On The Run' once more provides further evidence of a vinyl that has been so well preserved down the years and let's not forget this pressing is nearly 50 years old!  There is no interference and the 'sound' just resonates around the room with clinical precision.  You can hear each note, each 'footstep' so clearly and the end 'crash' is so powerful with no distortion at all.  The 'running man' section again plays so clearly with just one static tick at the beginning and a small number of extremely light ticks.  This classic instrumental is Mint- for the vast majority with only the final section grading as Near Mint-
The ticking clock that signals the start of time 'Time' play to perfection and then the 'loud' chimes are of the same standard.  The metronome / instrumental section that follows has just a hint of very light static but it is so quiet and totally non-intrusive.  The opening two verses and Gilmour's iconic solo are 'as new' with no background and the final two verses also play with exceptional sonic quality - there are no ticks, clicks or pops and no static either.  This really is audio of the highest calibre and I only mention the light static at the beginning to be 'complete' in my grading.  The intro is Near Mint and the remainder Mint as it just could not play any better.
'Breathe Reprise' continues this fine form and plays with stunning precision from the first note to the last.  Mint
The quiet piano intro on 'The Great Gig In The Sky' begins perfectly with no static and only after 25 seconds or so is there modicum of very light static in the background.  This is a stunning start to this classic which so often plays with a fair amount of interference as we all know.  Not here!  The first 'vocal' is absolutely STUNNING!  It is so powerful with no distortion on the top end and it plays with a strength and depth that is comparable to an unplayed record.  The 'high octane' section is just incredible!  The 'quieter' end section again plays with great clarity and again there is barely any static.  This is undoubtedly one of the finest versions of this classic that I have ever heard and it's fair to say it ranges between Near Mint and Mint but certainly a lot more of the latter!  An unbelievable side of music!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The 'intro' on 'Money' plays so clearly with barely any static and the opening classic bass riff is just as good.  The first two verses are equally as good and the iconic instrumental section then plays with phenomenal clarity, depth and power.  The sax solo is so strong and 'as new' sums it up perfectly.  Each section plays with outstanding sonic quality and Gilmour's solos cannot be faulted either.  The final verse has no interference and the 'spoken' end section for once is nigh on perfect with only a couple of dust ticks.  A Mint- grade is fully deserved here.
The intro on 'Us And Them' plays with wonderful clarity with only a small number of insignificant dust ticks and as the music begins the audio continues to play with stunning precision.  The opening sax section is flawless and the first verse is equally as impressive.  Again I am just blown away by the sheer quality of the music here - the clarity is exceptional in every way and the first chorus does not disappoint either.  Wow!  This classic regularly plays with some 'background' I find but this has to be one of the 'cleanest' versions I have heard in many a year and I repeat this is an A3/B2 pressing!  The next vocal and chorus play to the same impeccable standard and the high octane sax/vocal section is just as strong.  The final vocal/chorus are perfect and this a stunning version for sure, the definitive version you could say, and Mint- is an easy grade to give.
'Any Colour You Like' keeps up this exemplary standard with sublime audio throughout with no sign of any interference, not even a solitary dust tick.  The depth of the audio here is astounding.  This is Mint no need for a minus here.
'Brain Damage' plays with stunning clarity from the get go and the opening two verses also play with great precision and only a handful of barely audible dust ticks - why I mention them I do not know!  The resonance and depth of sound on the first chorus is 'as new' and the remainder does not disappoint either.  This track often has some inner groove distortion but that is not the case here which is another indication that the vinyl has not been overplayed.  Mint
The segue into 'Eclipse' is seamless and from then onwards plays with wonderful quality and the power of the audio is what really stands out here.  There is no obvious distortion and it provides a fantastic finish to the album.  I have played the quiet 'heartbeat' ending a number of times now and I am pleased to say the needle has provided an admirable self-cleaning exercise on the record.  There was some static to start with but after 4/5 plays it had disappeared.  The 'spoken' part and every 'beat' can be heard perfectly.  A superb Mint- version.
In summary this highly sought after very early pressing plays to an incredible standard with no 'real' interference truth be told.  A minimal amount of very light static on S1 but nothing intrusive and this side still plays with stunning clarity and definition.  S2 is stunning and then some!  Yes the majority of S1 is Mint- but I am more than confident to grade S2 as Mint- in its entirety.  The sonic quality is phenomenal in every way and I have no doubt the winning bidder will agree with me.  There are a number of sections on this album where you 'look out' for interference - the intro, 'Great Gig...', 'Us And Them' and the final section for example but they all play so clearly - this classic album impresses on so many levels - and has to be the finest A3/B2 pressing I have ever listened to.
The Gatefold & Inner Sleeve
The iconic cover is in excellent condition with only a little shelf wear.  The edges are near perfect with barely any rubbing and the wide spine is in superb shape with just a 3/4 minor white 'specks'.  All the corners are in great order with very little wear and the opening edge has barely any handling wear also.  The front cover is in very clean with just a crease mark by the right edge, a couple of creases next to the spine and just a minimal amount of light ringwear.  The back cover is even better with no obvious wear, just some very minor fading around the edges.  The inside of the gatefold is superb with a small number of very light 'specks' around the edges.  A fine example overall.
The plain white die-cut paper inner is in excellent condition with no side splits or tears and only very minimal marking and very little creasing.  It has the Patent number 1,125,555 and 'Made in Great Britain' printed on one side.
The Posters & Stickers
The original posters are in superb condition with no rips or tears.  I'm not entirely sure if the stickers are original as the backing is white with PERMANENT written in red.  On the pinkfloydarchives site it does say the A3/B2 do sometimes include the stickers with just PERMANENT on the back but there is no mention of it being in red ink.  I assume these are original but I could be wrong!  Nevertheless they are in great condition with only a couple of very faint creases on each.
