Queen : Innuendo A2/B2 1st Press Original 1991

This first pressing plays to a superb standard with barely any 'background'.  There is only the lightest of light static on a couple of tracks which is in no way intrusive and the clarity throughout is stunning.  There are no clicks or pops and the sonic quality is practically 'as new' for the vast majority.

The cover is in excellent condition and is so much cleaner than most you see today, it has been very well preserved.  The lyric inner is in pristine condition also.  It doesn't get a lot better than this!

The audio on S1 is Mint(-) (T1 acoustic section Near Mint)

The audio on S2 is Mint(-) (T4 ranges between Near Mint & Mint- / T6 & T7 Near Mint)

Visual grading

The vinyl is in great condition and still has a very impressive glossy sheen.  There are no marks or scratches and only a small number of the usual faint sleeve removal hairlines.  S2 does have a couple of faint horizontal hairline marks on the opening grooves but they have no affect on the audio at all, they are purely superficial.  The labels are super clean with barely any spindle wear and the record has clearly not been played very much.

Play grading

The intro on the classic 'Innuendo' plays so clearly with only a couple of very light static ticks and as Freddie comes in the playback is stunning with no sign of any interference.  It continues in the same way and the clarity and power of the audio could not be any more impressive.  The beginning of the quiet Spanish guitar section has only the bare minimum of light static and so much less than you usually find - as the volume then increases the audio is faultless.  The following 'heavy' section is 'as new' and the final vocal section plays to the same high-end standard.  The majority is undoubtedly Mint- abut I will grade the acoustic mid-section as Near Mint
'I'm Going Slightly Mad' plays with exceptional depth and warmth from start to finish with no intrusion.  It plays with impeccable precision throughout and Mint is very much deserved.
'Headlong' has only a couple of barely audible static ticks on the intro and then plays with great power and definition.  There are no clicks or pops and only a couple of minor static ticks at the very end.  A Mint- track.
'I Can't Live With You' plays with outstanding quality from start to finish and again 'as new' is a description that can be used.  There is literally no interference and it sounds like it has never been played before!  A sublime Mint version.
The intro on 'Ride The Wild Wind' has just a hint of light static - a very minor hint!  From then on it plays with a clarity and depth that is second to none and there is no inner groove distortion either.  Mint- is a fair reflection of the audio here.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The vocal opening on 'All God's People' plays perfectly and it continues to play with great clarity even as the volume decreases.  Every section plays with wonderful quality and the power and depth of the audio is superb.  A dynamic Mint start to S2.
Another classic in 'These Are The Days Of Our Lives' and I am pleased to say it plays beautifully with no intrusion.  I did notice a few mega quiet static ticks but this is not 'interference' of course.  This is vinyl and just what we expect to find!  The clarity is stunning and Mint- is again deserved.
'Delilah' plays with genuine quality throughout with no interference.  No need to elaborate this is Mint
'Don't Try So Hard' as many will already know often plays with a fair amount of static/crackle and yet the opening verses here play so 'cleanly' with barely any static and any you do detect is so so quiet and totally non-intrusive.  The first chorus is faultless and it continues to play with remarkable clarity and definition.  In essence there is no interference and the quality of the audio cannot be underestimated.  A little light static on the fade out and overall this track has to be graded as ranging between Near Mint and Mint but certainly a lot more of the latter!
'The Hitman' plays with imperious quality and with a clarity, power and depth that is only found on a lightly played vinyl.  A Mint version.
'Bijou' plays very clearly with no clicks or pops and only the lightest of static at the beginning and a handful of minor static ticks.  This is Near Mint at the very least, a lovely version.
The intro on the classic 'The Show Must Go On' is nigh on perfect with only a couple of barely audible ticks and Freddie's opening vocal is indeed perfect.  It continues to play with STUNNING quality and the power of the audio is so strong.  There is no inner groove distortion and there is nothing that impacts on the quality of the listen.  The emotive 'my soul is painted...' section plays beautifully and only on the 'Go on' fade out section is there a little crackle at the end.  I will grade as Near Mint because of this but as you can see the vast majority plays to a Mint standard truth be told.
In summary this first pressing plays with a clarity and depth that you do not often find today.  Understandably this record is often heavily played and yet this one has been very well preserved for sure.  I have graded 3/4 tracks as Near Mint but arguably even that is a little harsh.  I set myself high standards when it comes grading and even a hint of light static will often see me grading a track as Near Mint even if totally non-intrusive.  There are no clicks or pops on either side and with only a little crackle at the end of 'The Show Must Go On' this is a near perfect album.  The clarity and definition of the audio is very impressive and I confident any collector will agree with me.
The Cover & Lyric Inner
The cover is in excellent condition with very little shelf wear and has retained its original 'white' colour extremely well with only minimal fading around the edges.  The edges and corners are in superb shape and the spine is in great condition also.  The opening edge has only a couple of minor 'crimps' near the top.  The front cover like I say is very clean and has just one tiny 'nick' near the top edge and another very small one next to the opening edge.  The back cover is just as good with again only the bare minimum of fading.  A very strong example overall.
The glossy lyric inner is near perfect with no side splits or creasing and only very minimal discolouration.
