Patto's third album was recorded at Island Studios and released in October 1972 and featured a looser approach to recording and one closer to their live act at the time. The band had been going since 1966 as 'Timebox' and had recorded singles for Deram, but by 1970 they had changed their name to Patto. They were signed by Vertigo and released two albums in late 1970 & 1971, but sales were poor and they were dropped. They signed to Island and recorded their 3rd album early in 1972 before going on a tour of the US supporting Joe Cocker, but the album was not released until October and sales were again slow. Their final album 'Monkey's Bum' was recorded in 1973, but was not released (until 2017!) and Mike Patto finally called it quits, first joining Spooky Tooth and then founding Boxer in 1975.
  The Tinsley Robor Group Ltd fully laminated sleeve is intact & in EX+ condition, with some very light corner/edge wear and a little light laminate rubbing on the cover. The spine is intact and fully readable, the plain blue Island inner is intact and is in EX condition.   The record is in visually EX+ condition, with only a couple of faint sleeve removal hairlines and one or two small needle scuffs visible on each side, that do not affect play. The labels are in EX+ condition, clean & bright with evidence of one or two very faint spindle markings.   The sound reproduction is EX+, still clear & precise, with no loud clicks, pops or hiss and with definately no skips, sticks or jumps, but there is some brief, low background noise during the run in grooves that ends as the music begins.
Overall, still a really clear, loud & lively listen that plays great.   The matrix nos. are; ILPS-9210, A-1U stamper 1-R, B-1U stamper 1-P. This is one of the early copies of the 1st pressing of the original 1972 UK stereo issue of this album!
