This first pressing has to be one of the finest examples I have ever listened to and I cannot overstate just how stunning the depth and power of the audio is. The clarity is also so impressive and there is only one click and three minor ticks on S1 - S2 plays with perfect audio from start to finish! This isn't quite a final upgrade because of that one click but it's not far from it! The vinyl has been so well preserved over the last 45 years and has clearly not been played very much.
The embossed cover is in great condition with only some light wear on the spine and the front and back cover are as clean as I have ever seen. The 100% attached poster is in perfect condition and the picture inner is also in superb shape. A stunning 'package' overall.

This vinyl is in lovely condition with a stunning jet-black glossy sheen and there are no marks or scratches. Under a bright light I can only find a small number of very faint sleeve removal hairlines which obviously have no impact on the audio. The run out grooves are so clean and the labels have no marking or spindle wear. The run in on S1 has no background and the vocal only intro on 'Mustapha' then plays with perfect clarity also. This standard is kept up as it progresses and I cannot find one single negative. As Brian 'kicks in' the audio is so powerful and there a great depth to the sound. From start to finish this opening classic is Mint no other grade will do!
With complete silence in the dead wax the intro on 'Fat Bottomed Girls' has no background and the opening chorus / guitar section is just as strong. The first verse is 'as new' and the following instrumental has only a couple of minor ticks. The second verse is perfect as it the next chorus. It continues to play with exceptional quality and with literally nothing getting in the way of the audio. The clarity, depth and power of the audio is STUNNING and overall Near Mint+ is an honest appraisal of the audio.
'Jealousy' plays beautifully with no interference at all. This is pristine audio of the highest calibre and I did not hear even one dust tick let alone anything more. The definitive Mint version you could say.
The iconic 'Bicycle Race' plays with tremendous power and depth throughout. It plays with stunning precision up until the 'bicycle 'bells' section. There is one click followed by a lighter tick but the remainder plays without intrusion. Slightly frustrating about that click because the rest of the track plays with incredible sonic quality I have to say. I will say Ex+ but 99% is 'as new' for sure!
Now 'If You Can't Beat Them' does play with genuine quality through every groove with no interference whatsoever. An underrated track in my opinion and it just could not play any better. So often there is some inner groove distortion but there is none here and the end section is a prime example of that - turn it up to max you will understand what I mean! The power and depth of the audio is phenomenal! A sublime Mint version in every way.
The intro on 'Let Me Entertain You' again shows just infrequently this record has been played and the opening vocal is just as strong. This track again rarely has no distortion and it plays with impeccable quality from start to finish. A Mint finish to the side and a near perfect side it has to be said. Damn that one click!
------------------------------------------------------------------------
The high octane intro on 'Dead On Time' is 'as new' and Freddie's opening vocal is equal to that. The first chorus is just as impressive and it continues to play to the highest standard possible. I cannot emphasise enough just how well it plays - the power, depth and resonance of the audio is fantastic! It plays so loud and true and again Mint is 100% deserved. Even the thunderbolt 'plays' perfectly!
'In Only Seven Days' once again demonstrates just how carefully the vinyl has been looked after and plays with stunning precision from the first note to the last with not even a dust tick. Mint
The intro on 'Dreamers Ball' is flawless and it continues to play with a clarity that is second to none. I only noticed a handful of barely audible dust ticks but that should not stop it from receiving a Mint grade.
'Fun It' again plays with sublime power and depth and has zero interference. Playing as it would have done back in early '78 it is Mint in every way. Incredible sonic quality.
The entire intro on 'Leaving Home Ain't Easy' plays with exceptional clarity and depth and Brian's opening vocal section is so clean and clinical and the first vocal is up to the task also. It progresses in exactly the same way and it has to be the complete version I have ever heard. There is literally no background. Crystal clear MINT audio.
The classic 'Don't Stop Me Now' could not play with any greater precision. The sonic quality is phenomenal and again there are no ticks, clicks, pops or static. Clarity, depth and power in equal measure and Mint in every sense of the word. The vocal fade out has no background either.
This superb album ends with finest version of 'More Of That Jazz' that I have ever listened to. The clarity and definition knock spots off any recent reissue and that applies to every track. There is no inner groove distortion and Mint is very much deserved. Again.
In summary this first pressing is so so close to perfect and in fact S2 is! S1 just has that one click and three light ticks but aside from that does play with wonderful precision. The sonic 'landscape' is so impressive - the depth here is unlike anything I have heard before and that may be because I have recently invested in a new stylus / cart. This is precisely why the first pressings are so collectable because when you find a vinyl as clean as this the clarity and depth of sound is magnified. The vinyl is visually stunning as stated and in conjunction with a fine cover (with attached poster!) this will grace any collection.
The Gatefold, Poster & Picture Inner
The embossed cover is in excellent condition with only minimal shelf wear. Only the top edge of the front cover has a couple of minor rubs and the bottom edges have only a little wear towards the right hand corners. The wide spine does have a little wear but it remains 100% legible. The opening edge is pristine and the front cover for once is very clean with none of the spotting / fading around the edges that you so often see. It has just has light creasing in the lower right corner. The back cover is stunning which is rare because it is predominantly white of course, it has no marking or creasing. The inside of the gatefold is immaculate and the poster is still 100% attached to the cover, none of the perforations have been separated. A fine example overall of this iconic cover.
The glossy picture inner is in superb condition with no side splits or marking and only a couple of small creases next to one of the edges.

I will only send items items worldwide via tracked shipping. This provides 'peace of mind' in case of loss or damage. The shipping costs are shown below and combined shipping is always offered. Any over-payment will always be refunded.
The Royal Mail only insure up to a value of £250 so if an item sells for more it may be wise to use a courier service (e.g. Parcelforce or DPD). An extra insurance premium will be required but I will not know the exact amount until the final sale price is known. All vinyls are packaged in strong over-sized custom made mailers with plenty of extra cardboard protection. They are placed inside separate poly-lined inners outside the cover so as to avoid seam splits in transit and then placed inside a PVC sleeve to provide even more protection. I pride myself on my high quality packaging as my feed confirms and if any customer has any specific requirements I am more than happy to help.
The mailers I use cost £1.00 each and I will use anything between 3-5 cardboard stiffeners which cost approx £0.18 each. There is also the cost of the poly-lined inner and PVC sleeve to consider, it all adds up! Not forgetting that eBay take 10% of the shipping fee also!!
