Hi! You're looking at an excellent condition Vinyl LP which is a FIRST PRESSING (West Coast black & blue label) with VAN GELDER stamps denoting a Rudy Van Gelder mastering and a classic 1971 album on the Blue Note Records label by drummer ELVIN JONES titled "Genesis"--the record is one of the last great Blue Note albums and features the remarkable three saxophone attack of JOE FARRELL on tenor saxophone and soprano saxophone, DAVID LIEBMAN on tenor saxophone and soprano saxophone, and FRANK FOSTER on tenor saxophone and alto flute, and with GENE PERLA on bass. The LP is a Blue Note Records album released in 1971, a 1st PRESSING on the Black and Blue label (indicating a West Coast Pressing) and the VAN GELDER stamp on the dead wax, bears the serial number BST 84369 and was made in the United States.
This LP is in excellent overall condition and the vinyl is in VG++ condition on side one and plays very well, with a couple of slight scratches, hairline marks, and paper scuffs which produce some light ticks during the quiet passages on the first track and just a couple of light, scattered pops otherwise but no other significant flaws, and in NEAR MINT- condition on side two with just some light paper scuffs that do not significantly affect play (THIS LP HAS BEEN SOUND-GRADED IN ITS ENTIRETY and sounds great!); the cover ia also in NM-condition with a slight bit of ringwear on the upper and lower center portions of the covers, very light dings on the tips, light thumb creases on the center opening edges of the covers, a few slight creases on the lower spine edge and just very light shelfwear otherwise but NO other significant imperfections--it's NOT a cutout! The original plain white inner sleeve is also included.
Vinyl Grading Standards (unless otherwise indicated, LPs are visually graded)
Mint (or M) – Sealed and effectively perfect with no signs of wear or ever having been played.
Near Mint -- A record with only the slightest evidence of ever having been handled.
Very Good Plus Plus (VG++) A very clean record that has no marks aside from slight scuffs and abrasions caused by removal from a paper inner sleeve or perhaps a few marks on the label caused by a turntable spindle.
Very Good Plus (VG+) A record that has had a number of plays and may have some superficial scuffs, possibly mild to moderate spindle marks and / or possibly hairline scratches on the vinyl, which may produce some intermittent pops and possibly very light background noise.
Very Good (VG) A record that has generally been well cared for, but has seen a fair amount of play, with some scuffing. hairline scratches, spindle marks and / or light scratches. Should play through well, with the possibility of more pops and more background noise.
Very Good Minus (VG-) A record with significant scuffs, scratches, and spindle marks that should play through with moderate pops and surface noise, possibly of some duration.
Good (G) A record with will play through, but with significant pops, substantial background noise, and possibly intermittent skipping.
Poor (P) A record with MAJOR issues that will interfere with play, and will possibly be unplayable in part due to damage (I'll only offer an LP in this condition if it's an extreme rarity and / or for cover art display purposes).
