The Rolling Stones - SOME GIRLS. 1978 LP Die Cut. Uncensored CUN 39108 (1) A3U EX/VG+ to EX/EX. Offers?
There are many versions of Some Girls, this one has the uncensored celebrity faces (Liza Minelli and Dirk Bogarde) which were withdrawn from later releases.
Here is what various Discogs listings say:
"At least there are 15 known variations of cover/inner sleeve Die-cut celebrities faces uncensored, full-bright colours, from top to bottom: green, yellow, blue and pink...The cover of the original album was a die cut with peep-holes so you could see the faces of members of Rolling Stones and female celebrities pictured on the innersleeve...Inner with celebrities lips (in red), and bright yellow on some long haired, dress and the little dog...Shortly after release the cover was withdrawn due to legal issues and a new designed inner sleeve without the celebrity faces was launched".
So have fun figuring out if this is an original first European pressing (we think this is probably some kind of 1st edition) or not.
All we know for sure is that it has a load of great Stones tracks on it and it has been very well looked after.
This LP came from a hard core Stones fan and there is a 2011 Telegraph newspaper advert for the re release included. Not sure the Stones were popular with the Telegraph in the 60's.
Up to 4 Vinyl LPs EPs or singles can be shipped for just one postage & packaging payment. So why not have a look around? Same working day shipping.
About Vinyl Valhalla: We collect vintage, rare & obscure vinyl, instruments, amps, tapes, CDs & memorabilia, and find good new homes. We aren't dealers and don’t sell new, or grade vinyl Mint or Near Mint. If you want new (or like new), don’t buy from us. We also don’t sell below VG - our vinyl is Very Good to Very Good + with some EX. That means decent quality, visually checked & reasonable prices. Just occasionally you’ll see something special higher or lower.
We don’t usually set up guitars and basses or add new strings - strings and action are personal preferences. That keeps our costs to you down.
Also, if you are in the UK and thinking about buying a new Guitar or an amplifier, most of these are made in Asia and sometimes involve hardwoods in their construction. Then they are shipped across the world to the UK. Think about the construction and shipping carbon footprint and environmental impact of buying new, compared to a Vintage used equivalent.
If Vintage is your thing, great – we’re on the same wavelength.
