This is the original 1968 UK issue with the Atlantic red & plum labels, the Campbell/Connelly label credits, with the earliest A//1 B//1 matrices and 1-1-1/1-1-1 stampers of the very first presses.

The second album by Iron Butterfly, was recorded at Gold Star studios, Los Angeles & in New York at Ultra-Sonic Studios in May 1968 and released in June 1968. The album features Erik Brann as their new guitarist and Lee Dorman who replaced the other original band members who left after the recording of their first album 'Heavy' in October 1967. The album and single In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida were an instant success and went platinum, becoming Atlantic's best selling album for years to come.... and the band went on to tour the US with Jefferson Airplane after its release.

The MacNeill Press front laminated sleeve is intact & in EX condition, with some very light edge/corner wear and some very light laminate rubbing/creasing on the front cover. The rear of the cover is slightly discoloured with minimal storage rubbing. The spine is intact and fully readable, the plain company inner is intact & in VG+ condition.

The record is in visually EX+ condition, with only a couple of faint & wispy sleeve removal hairlines and one or two light needle scuffs visible on each side. The labels are in EX+ condition, clean & bright with evidence of only a couple of very faint spindle markings on each side.   The sound reproduction is EX+, still clear & precise throughout with no loud pops, hiss or crackle & no skips, sticks or jumps.
Overall, just a really great loud & clear listen.

The matrix nos. are; 588116, A//1-420 stamper 1-1-1, B//1 stamper 1-1-1. This is one of the earliest first few hundred copies of the 1st pressing of the original 1968 UK stereo issue of this album!
