Zior : Zior 1Y1 / 2Y1 1st Press 1971 Nepentha Label

This relatively rare and very collectable first pressing from Zior plays with stunning precision on both sides with no interference or background of any kind and 'as new' sums it perfectly.  As always I have played every track in full and the clarity, depth and power of the audio is just spectacular!  You could not wish to find a more 'complete' version and it easily qualifies as a FINAL UPGRADE archive classic.  I cannot emphasise enough just how clear and precise the audio is and that I am sure is due to the fact that it has hardly been played and so well preserved over the last 52 years.  This classic album was only pressed in limited numbers and there cannot be many around today with sonic quality as STUNNING as this!

The gatefold is in excellent shape with only one small area of wear at the bottom of the spine as described below.  The original inner sleeve has only a little wear.

As this is a genuine first pressing it of course has the 1Y1 / 2Y1 matrix and is pressed on the famous Nepentha label.

Visual description
The vinyl is in lovely condition and still has an immaculate glossy sheen with no marks or scratches.  There are a small number of faint hairlines but you can only see them under a bright light and it is obvious the vinyl has hardly been played.  The run out grooves are very clean and the iconic Nepentha labels are practically 'as new' with only a minimal amount of faint spindle wear.  A stunning version of this classic album.
Play grading
The run in on S1 is silent!  So you are expecting good things from this vinyl and the first track 'I Really Do' delivers on so many levels.  The intro is full of depth and power and the opening vocal section has no background either.  It continues to play with a sonic quality that can only be described 'as new' and right through to the end including the fade out there is no interference of any kind.  The clarity and definition of the audio is of the highest standard and this is easily a Mint start to this rare classic album.
With complete silence in the dead wax the acoustic intro on 'Za Za Za Zilda' plays beautifully with not even a dust tick and the first vocal is equal to that.  The vinyl is 52 years old in June and yet the clarity is STUNNING throughout.  The quieter piano section near the end is a prime example of that with literally no background and the final vocal is flawless.  Immaculate audio from start to finish and Mint is very much deserved.
'Love's Desire' demonstrates once more just how infrequently this record has been played and plays with phenomenal audio throughout without any ticks, clicks, pops or static and no distortion either.  Another perfect fade out also.  Mint
If you happen to win this classic album just listen carefully to the organ intro on 'New Land' as it plays with total crystal clear audio.  No dust ticks again!  It has clean aesthetic quality of a CD but without the warmth and depth that you only find on vinyl.  The opening vocal is just as impressive and this high end standard is evident all the way through.  The mid instrumental is just incredible!  So deep and strong and the final vocal section and long fade out complete this classic with STUNNING precision and again only Mint is deserved here.
'Now I'm Sad' plays with exceptional audio from start to finish with no interference.  A 'busy' track and yet the sonic quality has not deteriorated in any way and there is no inner groove distortion either.  The up-tempo ending is superb and... you know the grade.  Mint
The intro on 'Give Me Love' plays with sublime power and depth and the first vocal is on a par with that.  It proceeds in a manner that defies its age and the mid guitar solo is faultless.  There is no distortion and to the final note it plays with impeccable quality.  I have no hesitation in grading this as Mint - a perfect side of music basically!

Another super clean run in on S2 and then the intro on 'Quabala' plays perfectly.  This instrumental continues to play with outstanding quality with no sign of any interference and Mint is again deserved.
The almost choral intro on 'Oh Mariya' plays beautifully with no intrusion and the audio really does play with remarkable depth and resonance.  As the tempo increases the playback is STUNNING!  A great track and I cannot overstate just how well it plays - the power and depth of the audio is so impressive and every note is so clean and precise.  Another perfect fade out and a sublime Mint version in every sense.
'Your Life Will Burn' is a powerful track and yet the intervening years have not dented its quality.  It plays with exceptional clarity and power and of course... no interference.  There is no distortion on the top end and the mid instrumental is breath-taking!  The final vocal keeps up this standard and to the end there is no intrusion.  Mint
The acoustic intro on 'I was Fooling' has not one dust tick and the opening vocal is equal to that.  From then on it plays with a clarity of sound that is 'as new' and once again I cannot emphasise enough just how clean and precise the audio is.  A quieter number and yet is plays with stunning Mint precision from start to finish.
'Before My Eyes Go Blind' is another track that plays like it has never been played before!  The original sonic quality is still there and the bass sound here is incredibly strong.  There is no denying the clarity either and yep Mint is again deserved.
'Rolling Thunder' completes the album with stunning audio for a final track.  There is no inner groove distortion and every vocal and instrumental section play with genuine quality.  The clarity of sound again stands out as a real highlight and for a a final track with so many powerful sections to play as clearly as this on a vinyl of this age is a rarity.  A dynamic Mint end to this STUNNING album!
In summary this very collectable first pressing plays to a standard you can only dream of!  The clarity, depth, power and resonance on both sides is faultless and it just could not play any better.  As stated there is very little spindle wear and this is clearly a record that has not been played very much.  I cannot emphasise enough just how clean and precise the audio is and it easily qualifies as a FINAL UPGRADE archive pressing.  Every intro and fade out play perfectly and all the music in between is quite impressive also!  A STUNNING album in so many ways.
The Gatefold & Inner Sleeve

The Keef cover is in excellent condition with only one 'obvious' area of wear at the bottom of the spine.  At some point I suspect it was dropped as there is some creasing / a minor bend here but it is only small and not a major issue.  The edges have hardly any rubbing and the wide spine has retained its shape extremely with only the small area of wear at the bottom of course and is still 100% legible.  The corners have some rubbing but the other 'top' corners are in great shape with hardly any wear and the opening edge has only minimal handling wear on the front cover edge, the other one is pristine.  The front cover itself is very clean with just one small area of fading / ringwear near the top edge and the back cover has just one tiny white 'scuff' and... the minor bend in the corner.  The inside of the gatefold is in lovely condition with only light creasing at the foot of the spine.  A very strong example overall with only one small area of wear.

The original poly-lined 'Plastic Bags...' inner sleeve, date coded 0571, has no side splits and only a couple of very small tears on the central 'window'.  It has only minimal creasing and light age related fading around the edges.
