Due to its limited release, Navarra's excellent recording was not widely promoted.
However, his relaxed and fluid technique permeates the entire piece, making it one of the most unique performances recognized since the 1970s.
Especially, the sound engineer Georges Kisselhof, who was in charge of recording for Calliope, added to the recording's excellence by mastering the acoustic details of chamber music.
It has been hailed as one of the most authentic recordings of Bach's unaccompanied works.
However, Calliope's initial release still suffered from the common French record frequency response suppression.
Out of admiration for this recording, this reissue has adopted an uncompressed processing workflow for the master tape, with an all-analog production process.
In addition, it was finally pressed with virgin vinyl by the famous German factory Pallas.
Many music critics have exclaimed that the sound quality of this version far surpasses the initial release and that this is the true original version.
The factory white label test pressing is limited to 60 sets.
Currently, the regular version's selling price has surged to over USD $2,000, let alone the rare white label test pressing version.
