On sale here is a rare UK picture disc TLR LP 002S featuring a compilation of punk 45s from 1979.Designed by HAN-O-DISC Comes in a clear pvc sleeve.and advertised as a 'TRANSLUMAR DEFRACTOR DISC' (yes - really!) - this is actually two one-sided clear vinyls stuck together with the design/artwork sandwiched in-between. The design glows in the dark, is translucent and defracts light. See 1st picture for track listing
Below is from a discogs post:
Odd, intriguing punk / dub document, claimed to be ‘the world’s first punk picture disc album’. Yup. You’d have thought, as the Pistols’ star waned, supreme flogger of dead horses Malcolm McLaren might’ve used such a well-worn industry novelty to shift yet more product, but no. Shame, as Sid’s snotty gurn was made for piccy discs, even if the Medusa design here (by former Curved Air manager Mark Lanau) doesn’t seem punk at all (unless, of course, you subscribe to the ‘vicious serpent-haired gorgon as ultimate venom-spitting punk’ theory? Yeah, nah). They’ve even sandwiched holographic foil in between the two (yes, two) glued-together platters, and made it glow in the dark. Must’ve cost a mint in manufacturing costs, which ain’t very punk either. So, the music? Standouts for me are Front’s lurching sludge punk number ‘Cold War’, Cash Pussies ‘99% Is Shit’ (for its Sid Vicious sample and Jayne Casey-like delivery by Diana Rich) and the uplifting dub track by Tribesmen. Oh, and a quick fun fact: UK hip hop DJ duo Hardrock Soul Movement actually plonked this on one of their SL-1200’s for a mid-80s publicity shot (check their Discogs artist profile for proof). Anyway, all up you’ve got 9 punk tunes, one dub, and the Medusa. Like a surrealist masterpiece, it’s the kind of record you’d dream about then wake up thoroughly disappointed to discover it doesn’t actually exist. In this case, thankfully, you’re wrong. It does. Worthy of the Guggenheim methinks.

audible background noise inc some pops etc.
G heavy
use, audible background noise for sure. Won't be pretty but still worthwhile
due to rarity etc.
