Joy Division - Gruftgesaenge
(Democrazy Records DR 00.-4 Double LP 1981)
This is a 1981 UK Double LP 1st pressing in very nice overall condition! Manufactured in Germany in 1981 for the UK market. It has a heavyweight matte single sleeve. This has no text printed on the spine. Both records come with their original company plain polythene inner sleeve. The records are pressed on thick black vinyl & have plain white paper labels. The records have 1st press "JD-1/ JD-2/ JD-3/ JD-4 matrix stampers. These are machine ethed in the dead wax.
An excellent early 1980's double LP release. It includes a concert recorded live at the Amstardam "Paradiso" in early 1980. Demo out-take recordings from 1978. There is also a track from a "Factory" flexi-disc from 1980.
The tracks are as follows:
Side 1:
1. Passover
2. Wilderness
3. Digital
4. Day Of The Lords
5. Insight
6. New Dawn Fades
7. Disorder
Side 2:
1. Transmission
2. Love Will Tear Us Apart
3. These Days
4. A Means To An End
5. 24 Hours
6. Shadowplay
Side 3:
1. She's Lost Control
2. Atrocity Exhibition
3. Atmosphere
4. Dead Souls
5. Komakino
Side 4:
1. Incubation Pt. 1
2. Incubation Pt. 2
3. Digital
4. Glass
5. Incubation 82
A very rare early 1980's Joy Division Double LP release. It seldom turns up for sale. This is the very earliest pressing of this double LP too. A genuine 1st Pressing from 1981. I have some other rare & collectible late 1970's, early 1980's UK Punk/ New Wave/ Post Punk LP's & 7" Singles for sale too. Please see my other items.
Sleeve: There is mild to more moderate rubbing wear to the corner tips. There is a mild 8 cm crease at the bottom corner tip area at the sleeve opening. There is a mild 10 cm crease at the bottom corner tip area at the spine. There are a couple of much smaller mild or very mild creases at the bottom corner tip area at the spine. These measure 4 cm and 2 cm in length. There is a 4 cm crease at the top sleeve opening area too. all of these creases go through the sleeve to a varying degree. However, they are not too noticeable overall. They are more noticeable of the front sleeve when compared to the rear sleeve.
There is some light. very mild or very minor rubbing wear on the spine on a few areas. Otherwise, the spine is in Very Near Excellent condition. There is some light, very mild or very minor rubbing wear on the bottom edge on some areas. There is some light, mild or very mild ringwear on some areas. Overall, Very Good+ condition.
Vinyl 1: Very few plays! There is a very tiny 0.5 cm hairline pressing mark on the 3rd track on Side 1. This causes a few light or very mild clicks (Please see the playback description below). This seems to be a pressing error. Obviously the quality of the pressing is not to the highest standard. It is possible that this pressing mark is on all original pressings.
Otherwise, there are a few light, very mild or very minor sleeve rubs which can barely be seen under a strong light. The inner sleeve, over time, has left some light, very mild or very minor dull surface marks on a few areas. This is mainly on the dead wax areas. These, again, can barely be seen under a strong light. Overall, a strong EXCELLENT condition. Looks in Excellent+ condition. I have downgraded this purely because of the tiny pressing mark which causes a few clicks. The labels are in Excellent+ condition and show minimal spindle wear only. The original clear polythene inner sleeve is in Very Good+ condition. There is some light, mild or very mild ringwear, rippling & creasing. There are no seam splits.
I have play tested this LP in its entirety. As stated, there is an extremely tiny 0.5 cm hairline pressing mark on the 3rd track on Side 1. This causes approximately 10 light or very mild clicks. It does not jump. Otherwise, there is light, mild, very mild or very minor crackle in some quieter places. There is some intermittent mild to more moderate crackle on track 4 on Side 2. This does not last that long. Overall, this LP plays Near Excellent to Excellent, & Excellent+ in some areas. Overall, an Excellent audio copy! Please note that the quality of the recordings is not of the highest standard. However, they are, in the main, extremely good indeed.
Vinyl 2: Very few plays! There is a very tiny pin-head sized pressing mark on the 2nd track on Side 4. This causes a few mild or very mild clicks (Please see the playback description below). This seems to be a pressing error. Obviously the quality of the pressing is not to the highest standard. It is possible that this pressing mark is on all original pressings.
There are three small areas of mild to more moderate surface sleeve rubs, or surface rub marks, on Side 3. These can only be seen under a strong light. Otherwise, a few light, very mild or very minor sleeve rubs which can barely be seen under a strong light. The inner sleeve, over time, has left some light, very mild or very minor dull surface marks on a few areas. This is mainly on the dead wax areas. These, again, can barely be seen under a strong light. Side 3 is in Very Good++ condition. Side 4 is in a strong Excellent condition. Overall, NEAR EXCELLENT condition. The labels are in Excellent+ condition and show minimal spindle wear only. The original clear polythene inner sleeve is in Very Good+ condition. There is some light, mild or very mild ringwear, rippling & creasing. There are no seam splits.
I have play tested this LP in its entirety. As stated, there is an extremely tiny pin-head sized pressing mark on the 2nd track on Side 4. This causes approximately 9 mild or very mild clicks. It does not jump. Otherwise, there is light, mild, very mild or very minor crackle in some quieter places. Overall, this LP plays Near Excellent to Excellent, & Excellent+ in some areas. Overall, an Excellent audio copy! Please note that the quality of the recordings is not of the highest standard. However, they are, in the main, extremely good indeed.
I shall place the vinyl into a separate plain paper inner sleeve. This will protect the original inner sleeves from any damage during the shipping process.
Traceable insurance is already included in the stated P&P price for this listing.
Discount is given on P&P for multiple purchases. I shall always weigh combined purchases to get a completely accurate price. So please wait for the invoice to be sent before paying. Please see below for a more detailed description.
AN INVOICE WILL BE SENT TO YOU VERY SOON AFTER THE AUCTION ENDS. PLEASE WAIT FOR THIS BEFORE PAYING.
Royal Mail have very recently increased their postage rates. So I have revised my postage costs to reflect their increases. (Please note that these prices include packaging costs too)
Double LPs are classed as two LPs. Also posters, inserts, etc.. can increase postage costs. One parcel must not exceed 2kg (approximately 4-6 LPS).
All records will be sent in high quality vinyl mailers with at least two card stiffeners either side of the LP or 7" Single. I use a cruciform box for larger orders (3-6 LPs). All parcels will be marked "Fragile" and dispatch time will generally be between 1-3 days after payment.
I will also remove the vinyl from the sleeve & place them in a re-sealable polythene sleeve. In order to prevent seam splits. Depending on the inner sleeve; I often remove the vinyl from the inner sleeve & place it in a separate plain paper, or polythene-lined, plain inner sleeve. I am very conscientious and careful when packaging your LP(s).
I consider my postage & packaging costs to be very transparent & very fair. Packaging costs will generally be between £0.80 to £1.50. I am not adding any further costs for handling, etc...
If you are uncertain about any of the above, or just simply want some information regarding any item, please do not hesitate to contact me. I welcome any questions.
Remember to check out Lots of rare & quality vinyl! Most are UK 1st Pressings. It is quite likely that there will be more records by this artist, or records in a similar vein.
