This is an ORIGINAL 1959 DEL-FI RECORDS U.S. FIRST ISSUE self-titled debut LP from rock-n-roll legend Ritchie Valens.  It is Del-Fi Records U.S. catalog number DFLP 1201, thick rigid vinyl pressing with first issue light green and black Del-Fi 'Delphonic Sound'  labels.  Record comes packaged inside the cover in a plain white paper inner sleeve.

This record grades in the VG range with a moderate fo fair number of surface marks which cannot be felt and will not affect play and a very small amount of very small surface scratches which might be barely feelable and which may cause some scattered ticks.  I do not believe there is anything on the play surface that is serious enough to cause skips, I have given this record a random play test over many areas on both sides and did not encounter any skips or serious ticks - There is some light crackly surface noise scattered throughout, and there are a couple of tracks that sound the least bit scratchy, not enough to distract from enjoyable listening.  There is a little white wear apparent in the grooves in a few tracks, this also does not seem to affect play.  There is some wear along the center hole on side, and both labels have some spindle marks, no other real flaws.  Condition of cover is fair to good - When I obtained this LP the front and back cover were almost completely split and separated, I have repaired the damage along the edges the best I could by taping from the inside and reglueing along the spine.  Aside from the repaired damage along the edges the back cover has a good amount of contact wear and dark age discoloration, the front cover looks pretty good with some wear along its outer edges. 
This historic LP actually sounds pretty good in spite of all it has been through over the decades - Its history alone would make it a worthy addition to any vintage roots rock-n-roll record collection!
