Rene Bloch was a saxophonist, flutist, composer, arranger, and orchestra leader. Bloch grew up in Los Angeles and graduated from Jefferson High School. He played as an alto saxophonist in swing bands and later in Latin jazz bands. Bloch was an important member of the band of pianist Johnny Otis in 1945 and in the mid-1950s of Perez Prado And His Orchestra. At the end of the 1950s, Bloch began directing his own combos. (wiki)
