THE BEATLES - ROCK 'N' ROLL MUSIC VOLUME 1 - Vinyl LP - AXIS - 1981 - G (1438)
This recording is from the famous English rock band The Beatles, formed in Liverpool in 1960, comprising John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr. The Beatles are regarded as the most influential band of all time and were integral to the development of 1960’s counterculture and the recognition of popular music as an art form. Rooted in Skiffle, Beat and 1950s rock and roll, their sound incorporated elements of classical music and traditional pop in innovative ways. The band also explored music styles ranging from folk and Indian music to psychodelia and hard rock. As pioneers in recording, song writing and artistic presentation, the Beatles revolutionised many aspects of the music industry and were often publicised as leaders of the era’s youth and sociocultural movements.
Rock 'n' Roll Music Volume 1 was originally released as disc 1 of an double album of the same name that was issued on 7 June 1976 in the United States and in the United Kingdom, four days later.
