This is the great Beatles spoof/parody album from the late 70s and a must-have for any vinyl record collector and Beatles fan. Created by the late great Neil Innes (former member of the Bonzo Dog Band) and supported by Eric Idle (a key member of the Monty Python comedy team), The Rutles' "Meet The Rutles" LP, released in 1978 by Warner Bros. Records (Catalogue Number , is a first press, comes with the original cover and detailed full colour parody booklet (see pictures for example content). The record features excellent parodies of early, middle period and late Beatles tracks, such as "I Must Be In Love", "Cheese and Onion", "OUCH!", "Love Life", "Doubleback Alley" - see photos for full track listing (great fun working out which Beatles tracks that they parody).

I've had this album since it was released in 1978 and, listening it to again it still stands the test of time; besides being funny and clever it's still great to listen as an album of music, based as it is on the best of the Beatles. The album is in Very Good Plus (VG+) condition overall - Side One is VG+ to Excellent, while there are few more pops and crackles on Side Two but nothing to really overpower the music at any stage. and the inlay is in good plus (G+) grading. The cardboard sleeve is in Good (but not great) condition; quite a bit of edge wear (particularly bad wear along the top) but very much intact- see pictures for condition. The full colour booklet is in Very Good condition overall, the staples are starting to detach a little at the top of the page/s but still well intact. The heavy paper inner sleeve, illustrated with parody/spoof records on the Rutles label is in Very Good/Plus condition with very little wear and also features lyrics to many of the songs as well as credits and a track listing (see detailed pictures again). Overall, I'd class the whole record package as Very Good Plus, hence mid-pricing. This item is a great addition to any music collection and is a good find for fans of The Beatles/Rutles.
