This is an ORIGINAL 1968 COLUMBIA RECORDS U.S. MONO LP (NOT THE RECENT REISSUE) titled 'Cheap Thrills', the all-time classic San Francisco psychedelic blues-rock album from Janis Joplin and her band Big Brother And The Holding Company that first brought Janis to rock stardom.  It is Columbia Records U.S. catalog number KCL 2900, red labels with "MONO" in white, gatefold cover.  Record comes packaged inside the cover in a nice clear plastic inner sleeve supplied by a previous owner.
The matrix runouts are stamped: Side 1 : 0  XLP137373 1B; Side 2 :  0  XLP137374-1B, Santa Maria pressing.

The band is : Janis Joplin, Sam Andrew, James Gurley, Peter Albin, and Dave Getz.

The cover artwork is by R. Crumb.

Tracks: Combination Of The Two, I Need A Man To Love, Summertime, Piece Of My Heart, Turtle Blues, Oh Sweet Mary, Ball And Chain.

Condition of record is on the high side of VG with a few surface marks that cannot be felt and will not affect play and a couple of small surface scratches which can barely be felt and which will cause a few ticks in the song 'Ball And Chain'.  Record generally plays very nicely with a little bit of light scattered surface noise and the afore mentioned ticks.  Condition of gatefold cover is also a high VG with a 5" split in the right hand side of the top edge of the back gatefold which I have repaired by taping from the inside, a closed split in the left side of the top edge of the back gatefold, some very small areas along the edges of the cover where the top layer of paper is worn away, some ring and contact wear, and some general wear along the edges and on the corners.  Clear plastic inner sleeve is in good shape with just a few very slight wrinkles.

This album was released right about at the time the U.S. major labels were discontinuing mono records and is very rare in mono - It would make a scarce addition to your Janis Joplin or late 1960s rock record collection!
