The Beatles - A Hard Day's Night
(Parlophone PCS 3058 UK Stereo LP 1964)
This is a 1964 UK Stereo 1st pressing LP in very nice overall condition! It has a heavyweight front laminated flipback sleeve. This has a mid sized "Stereo" on the front. The sleeve is printed by "Garrod & Lofthouse". It comes with its original generic tracing-paper lined "Emitex" company paper inner sleeve.
The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has black & yellow "Parlophone" labels. These have "The Parlophone Co...", "Recording First..." and "Sold in UK..." label texts. There is an embossed "KT" company tax code around the spindle hole on Side 2's label. The matrix numbers are machine stamped in the dead wax. The matrix numbers (and mother stampers) are as follows:
Side 1: YEX 126-1 (OD 2)
Side 2: YEX 127-1 (AD 1)
This is a genuine 1964 Stereo 1st pressing of this LP. These are extremely rare. The UK Stereo version of this LP sold in much smaller quantities than the "Mono" counterpart. They are surprisingly difficult to locate. Especially the 1st UK pressing with "The Parlophone Co..." and "Recording First..." label texts. The sleeve has a mid sized "Stereo" on the front. This copy also has the earliest matrix numbers & mother stampers too.
I have some other rare & collectible UK original "Beatles" records. This includes the UK original red Parlophone 7" Singles of "Love Me Do" and "Please Please Me". It alsoincludes a UK "Black & Gold" Parlophone Mono copy of the "Please Please Me" LP too. So please see my other items. Don't miss out!
Sleeve: There is some mild or very mild rubbing wear to the corner tips. There is some mild or very mild rubbing wear on the sleeve opening edges on some areas. This is not that noticeable. There is some very mild fading to the white areas of the sleeve. There is a very tiny crease in one corner tip area. There is a very mild 3.5 cm hairline laminate crease on the front sleeve. This is at the bottom corner tip area at the spine.
There are about 5 small & light horizontal hairline creases at the spine area. These measure from 1 cm to 1.5 cm in length. The spine is in very nice condition. There is some light or very mild foxing on a few areas on the rear sleeve. There is a tiny pen dot mark on the rear sleeve too. There is some light, mild or very mild ringwear on some areas. Overall, the sleeve is in Very Good+ condition.
Vinyl: The original inner sleeve, over time, has left an approximately 18 cm surface streak mark that goes across Side 1. This is quite feint under a strong light. It is also quite common that the original tracing-paper lined Emitex inner sleeves do leave surface streak marks. There are about 4 light or very mild hairline surface marks, or surface rub marks, on Side 1 and Side 2. These measure from 1 cm to 4 cm in length. Several of these are very feint & not that visible under a strong light. There is a tiny pin-prick sized mark at the end of the 1st track on Side 2.
Otherwise, there are some light, mild, very mild or very minor sleeve rubs which can only be seen under a strong light. There are a few areas of more moderate sleeve rubs, or surface rub marks, which can only be seen under a strong light. These are mainly on Side 1. The original Emitex inner sleeve, over time, has left some other light, very mild or very minor dull surface marks on some areas. These can hardly be seen under a strong light. Overall, the vinyl is in a strong Very Good+ condition. The labels are in Excellent condition and show light or very mild spindle wear only.
The original Emitex company inner sleeve is in Very Good condition. There is some light, mild or very mild ringwear and creasing. There is mild to more moderate fading. There are no seam splits.
I have play tested this LP in its entirety & it plays Very Good to Very Good+ overall, & Near Excellent in many places. There is some light, mild, very mild or very minor crackle in some quieter places. There are 4 or 5 very light clicks on the 1st track on Side 1. These are very much in the background. There is one very mild clicks on two separate tracks on Side 1. There are about 3 mild clicks at the end of the 1st track on Side 2. All of these clicks, in the main, appear to be caused by microscopic deep down dirt in the grooves. Overall, a very reasonable audio copy.
Traceable insurance is already included in the stated P&P price for this listing.
Discount is given on P&P for multiple purchases. I shall always weigh combined purchases to get a completely accurate price. So please wait for the invoice to be sent before paying. Please see below for a more detailed description.
AN INVOICE WILL BE SENT TO YOU VERY SOON AFTER THE AUCTION ENDS. PLEASE WAIT FOR THIS BEFORE PAYING.
(Please note that these prices include packaging costs too)
Double LPs are classed as two LPs. Also gatefold sleeves, posters, inserts, etc.. can increase postage costs.
Please note that there are now VAT import charges from the UK into all EU countries. Anything under 150 Euros will need an IOSS number. VAT is paid at point of sale. For any items over 150 Euros in value. There will be a customs charge too. These vary, I believe, from country to country. Please check your relevant postal service online for details. Please note that these charges are beyond my control and are the law for outside parcels going into the EU.
All records will be sent in high quality vinyl box/ mailers with at least two card stiffeners either side of the LP or 7" Single. I use a cruciform box for larger orders (3-6 LPs). All parcels will be marked "Fragile" and dispatch time will generally be between 1-3 days after payment.
I will also remove the vinyl from the sleeve & place them in a re-sealable polythene sleeve. In order to prevent seam splits. Depending on the inner sleeve; I often remove the vinyl from the inner sleeve & place it in a separate plain paper, or polythene-lined, plain inner sleeve. I am very conscientious and careful when packaging your LP(s).
I consider my postage & packaging costs to be very transparent & very fair. Packaging costs will generally be between £0.80 to £1.50. I am not adding any further costs for handling, etc...
If you are uncertain about any of the above, or just simply want some information regarding any item, please do not hesitate to contact me. I welcome any questions.
Remember to check out Lots of rare & quality vinyl! Most are UK 1st Pressings. It is quite likely that there will be more records by this artist, or records in a similar vein.
