Jackie Lomax - Sour Milk Sea/ The Eagle Laughs At You

(Apple Records APPLE 3 UK 7" Single 1968)

This is a 1968 UK 7" Single 1st pressing in great overall condition! The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has dark green "Apple" labels. The labels have a 4 pronged centre. The labels have the "Sold in UK..." text on them. There is also a "KT" company tax code embossed around the spindle hole on the A-side.

The record has 1st press APPLE 3 A-1 and APPLE 3 B-1 matrix numbers. These are machine stamped in the dead wax respectively. The mother stampers are GD 1 and GR 1 respectively. This denotes the very earliest UK pressing. It comes with its original generic glossy matte "Apple" company paper sleeve.

This is a genuine UK 1st press of this great 1968 UK Psych/ Rock single. The A-side is a "George Harrison" composition that was  given to Jackie Lomax specifically to record in 1968. This single failed to chart in the UK, so consequently it is quite rare. I have some other rare & collectable 1960's, early 1970's Psych, Mod, UK Beat/ R'n'B/ Freakbeat and Northern Soul/ Mod Dancer UK Original 7" Singles & EP's for sale. This includes some other rare UK "Apple" 7" Singles. So please see my other items.

Vinyl: There is a very light 1.5 cm surface paper sleeve rub mark at the start of the A-side. This is not that noticeable under a strong light. There is a tiny pin-prick sized pressing blob on the A-side too. This barely notices under a strong light, and does not affect playback at all. There is a very mild 1 cm hairline surface mark at the start of the B-side. This, again, is not that noticeable under a strong light.

Otherwise, there are a few light, very mild or very minor sleeve rubs which can hardly be seen under a strong light. The original paper sleeve, over time, has left some light, very mild or very minor dull surface marks on a few areas. They are mainly on the dead wax areas. These, again, can hardly be seen under a strong light. Overall, Very NEAR EXCELLENT condition. The labels are in Excellent+ condition and show minimal spindle wear only.

The original Apple company paper sleeve is in Very Good condition. There is some light, mild or very mild hairline "white" rubbing wear, or creasing wear, on both sides of the sleeve. There is some hairline rubbing wear on the sleeve edges on some areas too. There is light, mild or very mild ringwear & creasing. There are no seam splits.

I have play tested this single in its entirety & it plays Near Excellent to Excellent overall. There is some light, very mild or very minor crackle in a very few quieter places. There are no clicks or pops. Overall, a great audio copy!

I shall place the vinyl into a separate plain paper sleeve. This will protect the original paper sleeve from any damage during the shipping process.

Traceable insurance is already included in the stated P&P price for this listing.

Discount is given on P&P for multiple purchases. I shall always weigh combined purchases to get a completely accurate price.  So please wait for the invoice to be sent before paying. Please see below for a more detailed description.

  >>  Grading Information All grading is very strict & adheres to 'Record Collector' specifications. However, I have fine tuned them & they are explained below. All vinyl is examined closely under a strong light & play tested.

MINT Condition = A perfect copy! Almost impossible to find like this.

NEAR MINT Condition = Very nearly mint just slightly under, There may be a very few, very light paper surface sleeve rubs that can hardly be seen under strong light. This disc has been played a couple of times at most. The sleeve is virtually perfect - there is very minimal wear only.

EXCELLENT Condition = A clean & tidy copy that shows minimal defects. There will be light, very mild or very minor surface sleeve rubs. There will be no scratches. The cover will be very nice & clean with maybe minimal creasing, ringwear or edge rubbing wear etc...

NEAR EXCELLENT Condition = You can tell this record has been played a few times, but it has been well cared for. There will be minor surface marks only. The sleeve may have light, mild or very mild creasing, ringwear & very mild rubbing wear to the edges etc.... Overall, it will be a very serviceable copy that you will be pleased with.

Very Good Condition = A well played but very decent overall copy. There will be a few marks on the vinyl, but they won't be nasty scratches, just relatively light needle scuffs and sleeve removal marks, they will be noticeable but won't detract from play too much. Cover will show signs of storage/ ageing, e.g., creasing, slight folding, spinewear, ringwear or sticker tears etc... The record will not be trashed!!

Please note that I also use "+" or "-" symbols for this grading. A plus symbol is obviously at the top end of "Very Good" & is really not far from being in "near excellent" condition. The minus symbol obviously means it is at the lower end. This will mean that it is near to being in "Good+" condition.
>>  Postage Rates

AN INVOICE WILL BE SENT TO YOU VERY SOON AFTER THE AUCTION ENDS. PLEASE WAIT FOR THIS BEFORE PAYING.

(Please note that these prices include packaging costs too)
Double LPs are classed as two LPs. Also gatefold sleeves, posters, inserts, etc.. can increase postage costs.

Please note that there are now VAT import charges from the UK into all EU countries. Anything under 150 Euros will need an IOSS number. VAT is paid at point of sale. For any items over 150 Euros in value. There will be a customs charge too. These vary, I believe, from country to country. Please check your relevant postal service online for details. Please note that these charges are beyond my control and are the law for outside parcels going into the EU.

All records will be sent in high quality vinyl box/ mailers with at least two card stiffeners either side of the LP or 7" Single. I use a cruciform box for larger orders (3-6 LPs). All parcels will be marked "Fragile" and dispatch time will generally be between 1-3 days after payment.

I will also remove the vinyl from the sleeve & place them in a re-sealable polythene sleeve. In order to prevent seam splits. Depending on the inner sleeve; I often remove the vinyl from the inner sleeve & place it in a separate plain paper, or polythene-lined, plain inner sleeve. I am very conscientious and careful when packaging your LP(s).

I consider my postage & packaging costs to be very transparent & very fair. Packaging costs will generally be between £0.80 to £1.50. I am not adding any further costs for handling, etc...

If you are uncertain about any of the above, or just simply want some information regarding any item, please do not hesitate to contact me. I welcome any questions.

Remember to check out My Other Items Lots of rare & quality vinyl! Most are UK 1st Pressings. It is quite likely that there will be more records by this artist, or records in a similar vein.
