Israel's most famous singer is Arik Enstein, with his 1969 single Prague, which was written by Shalom Hanoch shortly after the USSR Invation to The Czechoslovakia in Aug 1968. Arik performed the song in the 1969 Israel song contest and won the 7th place with this song. Some lines in this songs releate to Ian Palach, a young Czech, who committed self immolation as a political protest against the end of the Prague spring resulting from 1968.
