Lawn Boy is Phish's second official studio album, originally released in 1990 and re-released by the band in 1992 after signing with Elektra Records. The album was recorded and mixed at Archer Studios in Winooski, Vermont in 1989 and 1990 on 16-track 2" tape and mixed to 1/4" stereo reels.
Certified Gold, Lawn Boy contains many often played fan-favorites from the band's daunting live repertoire including "Split Open and Melt," "Reba," "Run Like An Antelope," "Bathtub Gin" and "Bouncing Around the Room."
Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Mastering created the vinyl release from the stereo master reels. Separate transfers were done for vinyl, 96khz/24bit and 192khz/24bit so the Lawn Boy release is a native capture free from any edits or conversions. The result is a pure audiophile experience akin to playing back the master reels in your own listening space.
