JUSTIFIED ANCIENTS OF MU MU (J.A.M.S.) KLF 1987What the f. is going on ? EX/EX+
Record Excellent+, Cover Excellent
On offer here is a mega rare original withdrawn
album by the Justified Ancients of Mu Mu known by one and all of course
as the J.A.M.S.on the KLF label Jams LP1 entitled/ What the f...is going
on? I think it is the rarest item in their catalogue and never turns up
for sale. I have not actually typed in the swear word but you will know
what it is.There are 2 reasons for withdrawal within a day of going on
sale.Firstly the swear word and secondly bands especially ABBA objected
to their portrayal on this album.I think it is a brilliant amusing album
casting a snook at the radio pop industry. For example just play the
Queen and I at a party. If you are an ABBA fan you can never guess what
is coming next and to see the expression on ABBA fans when they hear it
is a real picture but many are broadminded enough not to be offended. If
you hate ABBA and especially Dancing Queen, you will love this track. The
R.C.values this album at a high price which is justified,no pun
intended.
Labels
I would grade the labels as NM.They are pristine with no writing or names on them. There are no spindle marks.
Vinyl
This
is a brilliant example.Even under the strongest light I could not see
any scuffs or scratches just the odd very faint wispy line which would
be caused by removing the record from the sleeve .There are no
repeating grooves.Even on the quietest tracks there was imperceptible
background noise .The album has been cleaned with a professional
cleaning machine worth £1000s but in reality I did not need to pay the
fee for this.I would grade the vinyl EX+ and would be EX+ .I have played
it through on a Linn Sondek player with Goldring cartridge. It is
amazing for a record nearly 30 years old.It has been really well looked
after and hardly played with no dishing or warping.
Sleeve
This
is the original unlaminated sleeve on both sides,There is just a
minimal amount of creasing on the front surface but no tears or
writing. but this is not really anything to worry about.I would grade as
EX+ or to be absolutely safe as EX.The spine is undamaged with the
lettering fully readable. These sleeves were flimsy and easily damaged
with missing letters on the spine or not there at all but not this one.
