The 14th installment in the Daytrotter Presents vinyl series, this 180-gram, split 12-inch vinyl pairs one of the new greats in American blues and rock and roll - Gary Clark Jr. - with one of the originators of Delta blues, Son House. Already a new legend, Clark Jr. taped this session with us during the 2012 South By Southwest festival in his hometown of Austin, Texas. Lounging around the front porch prior to the recording, he was the epitome of the classic cool that he exhibits in his playing and singing, still bringing a ferocious burn to everything he does. It's a blistering set and one of the best sessions we've ever put on the site. The Son House side is a short concert at the legendary Los Angeles club, Ash Grove, in the spring of 1968. The songs and the details between songs are impassioned and spirited. It's easy to begin feeling the pains that aren't even your own. Get these while you can. Thanks for the support and enjoy!
