The group has released four albums to date. See Mystery Lights is their first full-length release for DFA Records. * The 2009 form of Yacht is highly indebted to the "Mystery Lights," an unexplained optical phenomena native to the Far West Texas desert, where most of See Mystery Lights was written and recorded. * The cover of See Mystery Lights was done by Boyd Elder, a Texan artist best known for his album art for The Eagles' Their Greatest Hits (1971-1975), an iconic fragment of the rock history of the mythical American West. Yacht became disciples of Elder after finding him in the desert (searching for peyote cactus) in early 2008. * Strictly speaking, Yacht does "perform music." Yacht provides inspiring Teachings of constantly changing elements: PowerPoint presentations, immersive audio, live audience audits, and shamanistic video environments. The Yacht Performance is expressly designed to provide groups of people with catharsis and purification. * Yacht believes that all people have a right to free thought, to free expression, to write their own opinions freely, and to counter, utter, and write upon the opinions of others.
