Here's How it was done FOR THE 45 SPEED PRESSINGS:

Using only the original analog master tapes,  remastered and cut all of the titles at AcousTech Mastering, which features a pure Class-A disc-cutting system. AcousTech is located at Record Technology, Inc. the plant where the vinyl was pressed. It is a tremendous sonic advantage to have the pressing plant plating department & mastering room in the same facility as Steve & Kevin could cut a lacquer and plated immediately. This prevents the degradation of the grooves in a lacquer which is very fragile to quick deterioration.

And of course cutting at 45 speed is the audiophile choice for the highes quality. A 45-RPM record is sonically superior to a 33 1/3 variety because of a 35 percent reduction of groove curvature compared to a 33 1/3 cut.. It means that while you can't fit as much music into a 45, the undukations of the groove that your cartridge has to track are stretched over a longer distance. For these reissues, the music was displaced onto four sides, meaning each side contains about 10 minutes of music.

This is the ultimate reissues. The only way you'll get closer to this classic music is to listen to the master tapes or have been in the studio with the artist originally during the actual session.

GENE AMMONS GENE BLUE TREMENDOUSLY RARE  – 2 Sealed LP Set – INDIVIDUALLY NUMBERED 617

Another of the mid-1950s Ammons' studio jam sessions for Prestige, Blue Gene lives up to its title by utilizing blues changes as the basis for three of its four selections. Pianist Mal Waldron wrote all these lines and the minor-key ballad, Hip Tip. Ammons was one of the most expressive saxophonists and, in Idrees Sulieman and Pepper Adams, he found soulmates among the other horns. Each man had jammed with Gene on Prestige previously.

You should never pass up the opportunity to upgrade your collection. They're each very limited in their pressings and disappear with extraordinary quickness from the vinyl market. This causes prices to skyrocket because once they are gone, they are gone forever! Don't second-guess yourself with this chance to upgrade your collection  because before you know it, the opportunity will have passed forever.

Island rhythms abound on Bad! Bossa Nova and the floating, flying, expansive tenor saxophone of Gene Ammons exploits them like "Air" Jordan soaring up and over an opposition defense. From the mellow strains of "Pagan Love Song" to the extended and extremely rhythmically-oriented "Ca'Purange" (a  hit when first issued), Ammons takes us on a tour that stops in the Caribbean ("Yellow Bird), an Italian film featuring Silvana Mangano ("Anna"), and the Brazilian jungle ("Moito Mato Grosso"). His powerful second solo on the last one is alone worth the price of admission.

GENE AMMONS - FUNKY - RE-ISSUE ON PRESTIGE PR 7083 - The extended solos on Funky by Gene Ammons, Kenny Burrell, Jackie McLean, and Art Farmer  OUT OF PRINT IN THESE VINYL RECORDS AND DON'T EVEN HAVE A BARCODE ON THE JACKETS FOR A COLLECTOR PRISTINE JACKETS

- each among the all-time greats on their axes, each with their own very recognizable tones - are so melodic and creative that I have practically memorized them. Ammons in particular creates solos that sound like little songs in their own right .  It's really a shame that these Prestige Records "blowing sessions" of the 1950s are so often dismissed as being unrehearsed, spontaneous and somehow without artistic merit. How could you have ears and think that? On the title tune of Funky, for instance, you get a simple, riff-based head that is then repeated in a tight harmony by the horn ensemble before Ammons launches into his song-like solo. Thereafter, each soloist can be heard deliberately taking a phrase from the previous soloist to launch his own, almost as if each is completing the others' musical thoughts. Burrell picks up and finishes Ammons musical sentence, before McLean later picks up a motive from Burrell. When pianist Mal Waldron enters, he goes all the way back to the opening phrase of Art Farmer's solo. It's marvelously sustained. Everybody's listening to everybody and actively creating a single, cohesive musical statement. On the two Jimmy Mundy-arranged tunes, Mundy also keeps everyone on their toes by making all four lead soloists share a single bridge or exchanging fours in unpredictable pairs. And then there's "Stella By Starlight," on which Ammons turns in what may be the definitive ballad exposition of this standard before everyone solos during a double-time section. Throughout, bassist Doug Watkins and drummer Art Taylor create a hazy, nighttime groove that makes this album a great record to chill out to. (Taylor only picks things up a bit on the final track.) Despite the "hi-fi jam session" marketing spiel on the otherwise super-cool album cover, Funky deserves to be recognised as one of the most memorable albums of the 1950s.

GENE AMMONS - BOSS TENOR - RARE OUT OF PRINT 1987 FANTASY/PRESTIGE RECORDS OJC-297 ISSUE REMASTERTED BY PHIL DE LANCIE - TREMENDOUSLY RARE IN THIS RELEASE AND CAN SELL FOR UP TO $400 STILL SEALED LIKE WE ARE OFFERING HERE

1987 FANTASY/PRESTIGE RECORDS OJC-297 REMASTERTED BY PHIL DE LANCIE At Prestige, Gene Ammons basically did two types of sessions: a jamming situation with several other all-star horns; or a quartet format featuring a top-flight rhythm section behind him. Whatever the setting, "Jug" as he was nicknamed, displayed that dominant trait held in common with other giants in the grand history of his chosen instrument, the tenor saxophone-the ability to tell a story. Here are the blues, the ballads, Charlie Parker's "Confirmation," and Eddie Heywood's "Canadian Sunset." The latter had Been a hit for its pianist-composer and was again for Ammons. An added feature here is the addition of jazz-oriented conga player, Ray Barretto, to the piano, bass, and drums of Tommy Flanagan, Doug Watkins, and Arthur Taylor.     Track Listings
