First press UK MONO copy of this iconic album which some would say was their best. The last to feature an ailing Brian Jones and the first to feature Mick Taylor, this was also the last stones album to have an official mono mix which has a warmer, tighter sound than the stereo in my opinion.
Matrices are 1A/2A signifying the earliest possible pressing of this great album.
This copy is by no means mint but is still a good playable example of the rare first press.
There is no poster or inner sleeve.
The vinyl is well played with numerous light marks on both sides causing light background noise in between tracks and on some quiet passages but this is not too distracting. There is one feelable scratch on Gimme Shelter causing about 15 clicks which you can hear on the sample below.
I would still rate as an overall VG but have a listen to sound samples below.
All recording done directly to computer with no filters or alteration.
The labels are nice and clean with the inevitable spindle marks visible under light.
The cover has staining to bottom right corner visible on both sides but otherwise good condition and with original sticker still in place.
This is a good opportunity to pick up a rare classic mono at a bargain price.
