THE WHO - "QUADROPHENIA"

Highly collectable original UK issue double vinyl LP from 1973 on Track Record (2657 013).

This is a rare first press with lightly textured matt black labels and the following matrix numbers stamped in the run-offs:

(v = inverted triangle or "Delta")

Side 1: 2406 110 Av1  12  17
Side 2: 2406 110 Bv1  11  26 (also has "52-MCA 362" etched)
Side 3: 2406 111 Av1 11  1
Side 4: 2406 111 Bv2 11 1

The original first pressing gatefold picture sleeve has a soft almost pastel grey finish (later pressings were blacker) and was printed by Euro-Albums Holland B.V.
Spine lettering reads "THE WHO QUADROPHENIA  TRACK DELUXE DOUBLE 2657 013".
Stapled inside the sleeve is a 22-page black & white booklet.

Vinyl on record one has one or two light scuffs in places but is otherwise clean, and generally plays through nicely with just an occasional light crackle here and there. There is however some slighly louder intermittent crackles during just the first track on side B, so i would grade record one as being in very good condition.
Record two looks clean throughout and plays through nicely on both sides with just an occasional light crackle here and there, so i would grade as being in very good+ condition.
All four labels are clean and tidy with no writing or stickers and just a medium amount of spindle marks.
Sleeve in very good+ condition with one or two slight scrapes and small bumps, and a very small tear near the bottom of the front opening edge.Light scuffing on the corners and spines, although the main spine title lettering is still easily readable. No writing, stickers or ring-wear. The booklet is clean and tidy (just one slight crease on the last page) with all pages present and held together by the two staples. Both staples have however torn away from the glued down cover page causing the rest of the booklet to be loose/detached from the sleeve.
So, a couple of minor imperfections but all in all not a bad copy!
