This lot contains an album with twelve 10-inch 78 RPM records, all in the general genre of country music. They could probably all use a good cleaning, but they otherwise look to be mostly in about VG to VG+ condition, still nice and shiny, but with some visible dull spots and surface scuffs and scratches (some sides more than others). The one on the Perfect label also has a hairline crack that runs almost the whole length of the playing surface. I've played them all on my Audio-Technica turntable, and - apart from the Derby (comments on which are below), there are no skips or jumps, but they all have varying degrees of background noise, including some click-click-click passages. Because of variations in tracking ability, filtering devices and needle weights, I can offer no guarantees as to how well they will play on your equipment.
In the order pictured, they are:
Mercury # 5552 -- "Mocking Bird Hill" and "If You've Got the Money (I've Got the Time)" by Tiny Hill and his Orchestra.
Columbia # 20377 -- "Here Comes Santa Claus" and "An Old-Fashioned Tree" by Gene Autry.
Kentucky # 541 -- "Tennessee Saturday Night" and "It's Been so Long, Darling" by Preston Ward.
Okeh # 06543 -- "The Air Corps of Uncle Sam" and "I've Changed My Penthouse for a Pup-Tent" by the Texas Rangers.
Perfect # 12910 -- "The Answer to 21 Years" and "The Old Folks Back Home" by Gene Autry and Jimmy Long.
Victor # 20539 -- "My Blue Mountain Home" and "Golden Slippers" by Vernon Dalhart and Carson Robison.
Mercury # 5867 -- "Once in Awhile" and "I'm Glad You're Happy with Someone Else" by Patti Page.
4 Star # 1625 -- "Let Me Know" and "My Love Song to You" by Slim Willet and his Hired Hands.
King # 1387 (white label promo) -- "The Lights Are Growing Dim" and "I'm Just Not That Kind" by Harvie June Van.
Derby # 814 -- "Say It with Your Heart" and "Where" by Bob Carroll. (This one apparently is warped at the edge, causing both sides to skip at the beginning, before the needle settles in. Both sides, however, play fine on my Garrard turntable, which has a heavier needle weight.)
Imperial # 8305 -- "I'm a Fool" and "Serenade" by Slim Whitman.
Dude Ranch # Z-11 -- "I Wish I Knew" and "Rhode Island Waltz" by Eddie Zack and his Dude Ranchers.
The album is in used but functional condition, with typical cover wear, and with the index page filled out in ink. It has 12 record pockets with all the seams intact.
International Buyers – Please Note: Import duties, taxes, and charges are not included in the item price or shipping cost. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding or buying. Customs fees are normally charged by the shipping company or collected when you pick the item up. These fees are not additional shipping charges. We won't under-value merchandise or mark the item as a gift on customs forms. Doing that is against U.S. and international laws. COMBINED SHIPPING: See our seller list for other interesting and unusual items, in fact bid on several and you might save on shipping and handling. If you buy multiple items, and if it's feasible and cost-effective for us to ship the items together, we will gladly consider requests to combine shipping at a reduced cost. Just e-mail us, and we can provide combined shipping cost estimates on a case-by-case basis. Depending on weight and other considerations, we typically offer full shipping rate for the first item, then 50 cents or $1.00 per item. And if you are purchasing multiple items, please make the payment as a single payment, rather than trying to pay for each item separately. Oh, and this may sound obvious, but we can't reduce the shipping charges for items on which we offer free shipping.
