This is a Sheffield Labs direct to disc recording featuring a stellar cast. James Newton Howard is a composer who has scored over 100 films. In this album he collaborated with the Porcaro brothers and David Paich, all members of the rock band Toto (hits Rosanna and Africa), as well as Joe Porcaro, the father to the Porcaro brothers. Now 88, Joe was a jazz drummer who recorded with many, many great artists including Pink Floyd. He played on every one of the Toto albums.
Recorded in 1983, this is an audiophile synthesizer/percussion instrumental rock album that will knock your socks off if you have a high end system. I am the original owner of this incredible LP, purchased in 1983. It is up there in my top list of quality rock recordings - deep palpable bass, great soundstage.
The vinyl is in great shape, not rated as NM because of 2 light hairlines that are inaudible, hence the EX+ rating. This record was always stored with inner sleeve opening facing up inside the jacket to protect the vinyl. The jacket shows shelf wear with corner wear and a lightly creased upper corner. The side two label has First and Last stickers on it signifying that I treated the album before ever playing it with Discwasher's First solution to remove pressing residue and Discwasher's Last, a vinyl preservative. That is the reason for the FL written on the edge of the jacket (never ever thinking I would be liquidating my vinyl).
Shipping will be via media mail so please give 6-10 days delivery time. I will keep you informed as to when this album is delivered to the PO, but with media mail tracking may not show up for two days. It will be packaged in a high quality mailer with stiffeners. The record will be removed from the jacket to prevent edge wear during shipping.
