All records are both visually inspected, play tested and graded in the shop!
Before Dispatch all of our vinyl and shellac records are lightly cleaned, sleeves checked and cleaned of grit/dust to avoid wear to the play surface. 
Photographs are not a reliable way to see the condition of a record so...
Grading guidelines are as follows, first of all our grading system is strict and simple! There is a score given in an increment range as follows... G (good) / VG (very good) / EX (excellent) / NM (near mint) / M (mint). M (mint) being the highest and G (good) being the lowest, when we really cant decide on a score we may treat ourselves to a + (plus) or a - (minus) (halfway between two scores!)
Scores are given on an average basis, so you may purchase a record that is graded at VG (very good), but when played it performs like NM (near mint)... but due to the visual inspection being low it will pull the whole grading down. Customers are usually VERY pleased with our strict ratings and records tend to be much better than expected :-).
WE DO NOT SELL RECORDS THAT ARE NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE!  EVEN OUR LOWEST GRADE IS TO BE BOUGHT WITH CONFIDENCE!
