Frozen Planet.... 1969 "Meltdown On The Horizon" LP
Frozen Planet....1969 is an instrumental psychedelic jam project from Australia, featuring members of Mother Mars and Looking Glass.
Album number seven from the trio kicks straight into top gear with the twenty two and-a-half minute track 'Rollback'. The guitar sets the pace, and the bass and drums soon join in for another improvised, instrumental voyage. The heavy psych vibe carries strongly through this album over the three remaining tracks 'Bellhop Shindig', 'Dandy Chai' and 'Sunset Variations'. There's contrasting moments of wild solos and sound effects through to passages where the band will lock in on a groove. Once again, drummer Frank Attard is handling production duties at Frank Street, joined by guitarist Paul and bassist Lachlan, who bring along their collection of crazy sounds to help complete the process.
