American jazz trumpet player, bandleader, singer, and composer dubbed "the sound of surprise". (born October 21, 1917, Cheraw, South Carolina, USA; died January 6, 1993, Englewood, New Jersey, USA)

Together, with Charlie Parker, he was the predominant figure in the development of bebop (bop), which laid the foundation for modern jazz. He taught and influenced many other musicians, including trumpeters Miles Davis, Fats Navarro, Clifford Brown, Arturo Sandoval, Lee Morgan, Jon Faddis and Chuck Mangione.

He was also one of the key founders of Afro-Cuban (or Latin) jazz, adding Chano Pozo's conga to his orchestra in 1947, and utilizing complex poly-rhythms early on.

Roy Eldridge (born January 30, 1911, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - died February 26, 1989, Valley Stream, New York, USA) also known as "Little Jazz", was an American jazz trumpeter. He was a prominent soloist with the bands of Fletcher Henderson, Gene Krupa and Artie Shaw as well as featured in Norman Granz's Jazz at the Philharmonic events and a leader in his own name.

 Eldridge was given the nickname "Little Jazz" by Leon "Chu" Berry. On Wikipedia and the liner notes of i.a. Roy Eldridge - "Little Jazz" Jazz the nickname was given by the saxophone player Otto Hardwicke (Otto James "Toby" Hardwicke, 1904 – 1970) when they were together in The Elmer Snowden orchestra in the early Thirties. - wikipedia

The vinyl is almost flawless, bright and shiny. A very light minor, barely visible mark or two may be permitted. The disc should play with no audible noise. The label is bright, clean and unmarked. Sleeve looks almost Mint.
VG++/EX
(VERY GOOD ++/ Excellent)
Disc plays near perfectly, but may have minor, light scuffs that do not interfere with the sound quality. There can possibly be a light hairline scratch or two but nothing that is obvious or affects play. Vinyl is bright and shiny; label is clean and unmarked. Sleeve is Excellent.
VG+
(VERY GOOD PLUS)
Some visible surface wear, very minor scratches and scuffs, but minimal impact on the sound quality. Vinyl will still have good luster; labels may have minor imperfections (small labels or initials, etc.) but otherwise clean. Sleeve may have some shelf wear, or minor writing, no seem splits.

(VERY GOOD)
Vinyl will have noticeable scratches and scuffs that cause surface noise There should be no skips. Vinyl may appear somewhat dull and grayish. Labels may have small tears, tape marks, larger writing, etc. but still easily legible.  Sleeve may have moderate wear or writing, tape, price tags etc, seem splits. May have promo corner, hole or notch in sleeve.
