  "Burning LovRecords"

All Elvis, All the Time!

Item: "Elvis Half Hour Christmas Program, December 3, 1967"  Radio Show on Reel to Reel Tape

Catalog Number:   RCA ECP-1

Condition of Item:      Box M/Tape M/Insert M

Year of Issue:   1967

Today's Auctions:  This is an amazing find from an amazing collection!  This is a very limited promo reel to reel that was made in 1967 around Easter by RCA with all Elvis.  The astounding thing about this tape is that it has never been played, the tape is still factory connected to the RCA tape on the reel.  The box is in stunning shape as well as is the reel itself, it is in perfect shape, I have never laid eyes on a unplayed reel, especially one this rare.  I believe this tape should be valued in the $750 or more range as it is amazingly rare and to find it unplayed is unheard of.  Everything here is in amazing shape, it also includes the inner booklet that describes the content of the tape, it also is in perfect shape.  Don't miss this opportunity!!

The Reel to Reels are the absolute best sound quality you will ever find for Elvis music and they are also some of the rarest of Elvis music.  Never produced in large quanities, the Reel to Reel format is some of the rarest of the rare.  The price guides have tended to avoid this format, but experience says they are found in the $75 to $150 range, the real rare ones much more.

A Closer Look at the Item:  Another great rarity, more from this great collection.  This is a really hard to find promo radio show that was very limited in 1967 and now is really hard to find.  The box on this one is in nice shape, just very slight bit of wear.  The tape inside is in very nice shape, it looks like someone must have removed the sticker from the tape face, can see where it was.  This one also has the Elvis inner insert and it is in perfect shape, in full color and just like new.  What a fine piece, this is valued in the hundreds!!

Rating Guide:

Mint (M): Perfect in every way, looks to have never been played, should have that look just as it did when you pulled the record from the new cover at the time of original purchase.

Mint Minus (M-): A nearly perfect record and cover. This item should show no readily visible signs of wear, covers and sleeves should have no more than nearly invisible rings or other signs of slight wear and vinyl should still be completely glossy and shiney, just the very lightest hint of wear if it is tilted to very bright light.

Very Good Plus (VG+): This record will show some signs that it was played and otherwise handled carefully by the previous owner. Record surfaces will show some light signs of paper scuffing or light scratches, that don't affect the listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect sound are OK. This disc should still contain much of its original luster and sheen. The covers and picture sleeves should also be in very nice shape, they may have light ring wear or other signs of wear, may have a small cut out hole, indention or stamping present. Also there can be non obvious writing on the paper goods.

Very Good (VG): Many of the defects found in the VG+ record and cover will be present but more pronounced in the VG item. Surface noise will be evident, although the record should play through without skipping or repeating. Groove wear will now be noticable, scuffing and light scratching will be appearent, a scratch now can be felt with a fingernail. Labels will be marred with tape or tape residue, stickers or descret writing. The same will be true for the LP cover or picture sleeve.

Good (G): Good does not mean bad! A record in good condition should be placed on a turntable and it should play through, all though the surface noise will be evident. A cover or picture sleeve will have seam splitting, especially on the bottom seam or spine. Also there will be noticable ring wear caused by the presence of the record. The defects will start to overwhere this item.

Fair (F) or Poor (P): This record will be cracked, badly warped, and will not play through without skipping or repeating. The picture sleeeve or LP cover will show lots and lots of wear, the seams will be split on all three sides barely able to hold the record. This item will appear near valueless, unless of course it is a rarity that may not be seen again.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!
