1966 LP Record Beach Boys PET SOUNDS DUOPHONIC DT 2458 PLAY TEST VG+ SCRANTON
In this auction, you will receive the following:
1966 LP Record Beach Boys PET SOUNDS DUOPHONIC STEREO Capitol MONO DT 2458 PLAY TEST VG+
This version is the Scranton pressing plant variation and can be identified by the following:
• "IAM" triangle logo stamp in the runout grooves..
• "3" printed near the RIAA logo on the back cover;
100% Play Tested (twice all the way through, each side) for: Solid VG+/VG+
This LP is from a Nashville, TN area DJ's collection that we have in climate controlled storage and have been selling out for a couple of years..he was known to collect a record, commit it to CD or hard drive and then store it away otherwise unplayed..
The LP has been 100% play tested and tests for solid VG+ / VG+..
Both sides of this most rare mono pressing play very well..
Side #1 is the lesser lower VG+ side and has some fairly prominent dull pops present in a few spots...
This record has production flaws common to the Scranton pressing plant that take the form of raised bumps in the wax.. some of these bumps cause pops.. but no skips or loops at all..
Side #2 is much cleaner and rates a high VG +
The sound is generally clean, crisp & clear... I will not list a bad sounding LP on eBay!!!
This rarity though is less well conditioned than most from this collection though...
Of course, the music plays with crystalline clarity with just a bit of back ground noise present, but very little indeed.
Crisp sonic clarity, which is guaranteed to delight you..
No annoying static noise shadowing the vocals & sound portions, very typical of an LP this age..
I will never list an album on eBay which has persistent back ground noise or hiss because I believe this utterly destroys the true enjoyment of ANY LP record!!
Well conditioned vinyl that appears to have been lightly played & enjoyed and has been very well taken care of... examining the spindle holes shows only the most light evidence of ever being played.....
there are really hardly any visual signs of playwear as the vinyl shows just several ticks / paper scuffs only, and the aforementioned raised bumps on the wax...
The condition of the flawed cover is clearly shown with the flaws you see......scrape across front.. archival document tape.. some small seam splits... The worst flaws are shown..
This is a generally great sounding rare pressing!!!
