THE LURKERS - LIVE & LOUD - LINK RECORDS VINYL ALBUM.
Fantastic live album from Uxbridge's local heroes The Lurkers.
The Lurkers formed in late 76, the original line-up consisting of Pete Stride on guitar, Pete "Manic Esso" Haynes on drums, Pete "Plug" Edwards on vocals and Nigel Moore on bass.
The band played their first gig at Uxbridge Technical College in December to an audience of just 10, despite this shaky start they carried on and were one of the early punk bands that played live in the first few months of the Roxy Club in London's Covent Garden.
They also recorded four sessions for John Peel at Radio One between 1977 and 1979, with their debut single "Shadow", being the first ever release on Beggars Banquet Records.
'Shadow' was also voted by John Peel's listeners as twelfth best track of the year in 1977's Festive Fifty, to be fair it was pretty good going for a band who the music press labelled as 'Bandwagon Jumpers', despite this cruel jibe the band continued and went on to far bigger and better things while collecting an army of adoring fans along the way.
This is a joy of a live album, the Lurkers giving it large to a rabid adoring crowd, this just gets better every time you play it so grab yourself this quality vinyl pressing of this live punk rock masterpiece.
This came from a private punk record collection I bought recently so lots more to list in the coming months.
This was always one of the harder 'Live and Loud' Link releases to track down so finding this in this condition was a real bonus.
Sleeve is in very good overall condition with just some superficial storage wear but nothing too serious, the vinyl looks excellent with the odd very light superficial hairline that won't affect play.
A rare and hard to find must have Lurkers live album for any serious Punk rock collector.
Grab it while you have the chance, sold with no reserve.
Check out my other items, lot more punk to find.
