THE GONADS - THE MUTTS NUTS - GERMAN IMPORT ALBUM + INSERT + 7" - RARE MISS LABELED PRESSING.

Fantastic and fun filled greatest hits album from one of the most lewd and tongue in cheek punk band's of all time.

The Gonads were the brainchild of Garry Bushell, the punk fanzine writer turned Sounds rock scribe who managed the Cockney Rejects and the Blood and compiled the first four Oi! albums.

Bushell (alias Gal Gonad) started the band at school as Pink Tent. They became the Gonads in 1976. Inspired by the Sex Pistols, the Clash and the Ramones, with a subtle hint of Jilted John and the not so subtle hint of Monty Python's Flying Circus.

The Gonads exploded onto the South London Punk scene like an agitated pint of lager on a warm Summer's day, They recorded just one single 'Stroke My Beachcomber Baby' on their own Scrotum label before disbanding in 1977.

"The Gonads could have been massive," says former member Si Spanner. "If only we'd played outside of SE7", throughout 78 and 79, Gal was fighting what often seemed a lone battle for bands like the Ruts, the UK Subs and the Cockney Rejects in the increasingly jaded UK rock press.

Later he acted like an unpaid A&R man, securing deals for bands like Blitz, Red Alert and the 4-Skins. In 1980, against all odds and good advice to leave well alone he reformed the Gonads.!

They went on to release some great punk classics and this fantastic import album is bovver boot full of street punk oi classics,

The album and 7" are in stunning condition as is the sleeve and insert, this package is that extra bit special as it's a miss label pressing - the album and the single have the same labels on them, mistakenly the album has been pressed with the bonus 7" labels so a great collectors item to boot. - Nice.

Item was acquired within a large private punk collection I bought recently, lots more to list in the coming months so keep checking my listings.

Album vinyl is in excellent condition and is pressed on quality vinyl, the sleeve is good with some storage wear evident but still tidy overall this album definitely captures the raw mad energy of the original band perfectly, and features the bonus track 'Grant Mitchell' Live - essential.!!!

A must have album for any serious Gonads or Punk rock record collector.
