Fantastic demos / Live / Peel Sessions collection album from X Ray Spex one of the best bands to pick up on the early punk ethic and run with it.

Led by Poly Styrene one of the early Sex Pistols fans who realised her own ideas, did her own thing and went on her own creative journey.

Poly was inspired to form her own band after seeing the Sex Pistols in Hastings, Poly's unique look and style made sure that X Ray Spex became one of the most talked about new acts on the then infant punk scene.

The band played twice at The Roxy during its brief 100 days, In March they played with Chelsea and in April they shared the bill with the Buzzcocks and Johnny Moped.

Their first Roxy gig which was only their second ever live appearance was recorded and their anthem "Oh Bondage Up Yours!" was included on the influential Live at the Roxy WC2 album, Poly was just a mere nineteen years old at the time of that legendary recording.

X ray spex were a fantastic band and although their recorded legacy isn't huge their fondly remembered for their fantastic one of a kind upbeat sax soaked punk rock music, this classic demos / Live / Peel Sessions album will take you back to a time when music really did matter and young punks were inspired to take on the world.
